New site design
I am currently doing a complete rewrite of this site….. After much contemplation, I have decided to discard frames altogether. In it’s place, I am implementing a structure based on a very useful but basic PHP feature – PHP include. I am also discarding all internal stylesheets and other internal formating in favor of CSS completely. I’ll also be doing some major page redesign. This may take a little to do, but rest assured, the site will be even easier to navigate and be more visually stunning (I hope). {Marlaine says – I am trying to design unique elements for his site, like his new background -Smiling.}

OMG I died at Black Dragons
I was doing black dragons today for slayer, and I looked away to order in some study material on server scripting from our library. When I looked back, I was standing in Falador (my respawn point), WITHOUT my ranger boots or robin hood, or my ring of wealth, or even my fletching skill cape. Since the ranger and robin are just under 7 mil these days, I was like Oh My Dang God!!!! Anyhow, I said to Marlaine, who was sitting right beside me, “I just died,” and she said, “Oh No Honey!!!,” and started racing there herself. I took a second to composed myself, figured out – one by one- what I needed from the bank. Ok – a glory to get to Draynor, a lunar staff to access lost city, and a raw chicken to access the black dragon area. Then I raced off there hoping to get my stuff back. Guess what…………….. I GOT MY ROBIN AND BOOTS as well as all the black hides and dragon bones that I dropped when I died!!!! YIPEE

Levels! And RS Customer Support
I got 3 Levels today! Firemaking, Hunting and Herblore! I went up a few hundred in high score ranks, and puts me at a total level of 1896 skill points so I’m only 4 levels short of breaking the 1900 mark! Also I’ve been thinking about that matter the other day with the forum strike that was given to me, and then having it removed because of the complaint I made. Seriously, with how understanding that Moderator Mark was… and the way he explained it, it has renewed my faith a lot in the Runescape customer support. I wasn’t thinking very nice thoughts about them before this. The fact he actually read it and responded to it, rather than just handing it off to an auto reply, says a lot about their concern over their players over serious matters like this. Anyhow, I’m off to bed now. I’ll probably be doing some work on the websites and such a bit more intensively tomorrow, so I’m not sure I’ll have much time for Runescape. But I wish everyone who reads this the best!

Message received from Jagex
To the following message I sent in: I wish to make an official complaint about it. As I was just reporting a link someone posted in a thread to the forum emergencies. If this action is what you take against people reporting to you. Then I will no longer report anything to you period.
I received the following reply: So it’s actually nice to receive an apology at least! Actually I’m glad to see Jagex was very reasonable on this. It was more than I expected. I’d also like to say a thank you to Mark H for taking the time and responding to this
I have just recently received a forum strike.

Farming, Slayer and opinions
Well not a lot today… just been fiddling around doing farming and slayer on Runescape. I got 180 brine rats today as an assignment which I completed – no brine sabre drop though… After looking at the new wilderness ditch and the new changes Jagex made to tele-blocking (logging out and in no longer voids a tele-block), I think Jagex is just out to try and make it easier for the pk’ers again….. I think Jagex needs to take a step back and rethink some of their ideas. A lot of the stuff they’ve been adding have only been for lower levels. Maybe more specific – for kids who don’t take the time to pay attention to warning pages that you are entering wildy and things like that. Jagex’s idea of a high level update is a requirement of 65 in a skill. Seriously if you work at it, you can have that in a few weeks… Unless they take a step back and redo some of their thinking, their updates will just continue looking pathetic and ill conceived. And that makes the game seem ill conceived.

Slayer, Farming, Ditches and Discord
Ok I’ve been training slayer and farming quite a bit. I’ve gotten 2 farming levels in the past 2 days, which now puts me at level 76 farming. In regard to the new ditches, I’m not really sure that they were needed as there was already a message warning us that we are entering Wilderness. It does stop us getting a message constantly as we run over the bridge to use the fairy rings. I understand Jagex is trying to deal with the luring scammers which is good. Finally I am actually a bit annoyed with Jagex at the moment, and will be reporting no more websites to them that are in breach of the rules. The reason is – yesterday there was a person that was posting a link to a site that was very very bad (pretending to be a Jagex employer taking applications for player moderators, which was a scam and actually trying to steal passwords. Anyhow I reported the link from the forums to the forum emergencies, expecting them to take action against this… Only to log in the next day to be notified that it was I to receive a forum strike for listing this link. here’s a screenshot of the message they sent me, I notice they never mentioned the fact i was reporting it! So as far as I am concerned Jagex can go to **** – I won’t be reporting bad websites, or mal-links from now on.

Burnt Out
Well I’m finally getting back into Runescape for a little bit now – I burned myself out on hunting. At least for a little while, I’m going to go back to the fun stuff of Runescape like farming and slayer. Hunting is so dang boring it’s not funny! On top of that, you get absolutely nothing that helps you train any other skill at all. All in all, it does feel very pointless training hunter (I’m level 71 hunter). I just wish you could do something like craft the hides you get yourself or at least be able to make stuff that is useful for alching or something and get XP for it. As it stands, hunting is the most useless skill in Runescape PERIOD.

Shoutbox removal, World switcher/toolkit database
I have removed the Shout box from the website due to continual loading problems. I apologies for this, as I will not be putting one back up – well, not unless I design and host one myself. We’ve also created a database of world switchers/toolkits on Runescape Registry. Head on over and check it out!

Olaf’s Quest Slippery Bridge Change
First off, I do have a 72 agility level, which obviously helped me do the quest without any problems. I saw people with lower agility not able to do it at all, even after a few hundred tries. I even gave out a few agility potions to try and help people get over the bridge. For those complaining that this is a nerf and made too easy, Jagex did say from the outset that it was supposed to be an advantage to have high agility – not a necessity. So it would be absolutely unfair to have it as a necessity without listing it as a requirement. This fix did not make it easy – just do-able. So support and demand high level updates. I do! Just don’t get stupid and rant for rantings sake, that’s just pure stupidity. Jagex said they made a mistake, apologized and fixed the problem. Let’s all just say, “Thanks Jagex” this time and hope for more difficult quests to come!
