Shadow Sword

Well, I am still continuing my studies of PHP Scripting, and also went onto Runescape. I updated my character by doing the latest quest and the new mini-quest, “Shadow Sword.” I have a picture of myself wielding one of the rewards below. Anyhow, I’m gonna go to bed as it is 4am and I’m extremely tired.

Runescape Vacation

Following my 99 on fletching…

I have taken a break from Runescape to learn the fundamentals of PHP Scripting.

I have also learned the finer points of .htaccess – which, among other things, allows people to password sections of their websites. It lets you create individual passwords and usernames for each person you want to allow to that portion of your website. A full .htaccess tutorial will help you understand this great utility.

If you want to use .htaccess, you will need to know the server path to able to use the password features. The server path is different than your url so upload this script via ftp to the location you want to place the .htpasswd file. Access the script via your web browser to get the server path to the location. This may save you time and a long distance phone call to your hosting provider if you are having difficulty finding the server path.

Titanic, Level 98 Fletch

Titanic
Well I know its been a while since release but I finally watched Titanic and it was great! What can I say? Great performances by all, especially Leonardo DiCaprio – great directing, a great movie, and I loved it even if it was a sad movie.

Fremennik Isles, Tears of Guthix

Well I did the new quest today, and I’ll be darned – Jagex has actually added a rather difficult combat related quest! My wife, Marlaine, and I were on the last stages of the quest, and heading towards the troll cave, when Marlaine ran out of food and died! I ran to where she was, trying to save her items, and was surrounded by 15 trolls hitting me at once and died myself! I lost 1 mil gp which I was silly enough to be carrying, my cooking cape of achievement and barrows gloves plus the quest junk. Marlaine lost her cape, but instead of the 1 mil gp I lost, she lost her black Cavalier hat. Anyhow, thinking we both had lost a lot more – such as full dragon and fury and more (which I had actually luckily banked), and Marlaine said she thought she had lost all her good stuff – I was like omg nooo! That’s it! I’m done with this game and I was going to purposefully get myself banned by swearing in a public location! Somehow Marlaine intuitively knew I was going to do something rash and dived in, shouting nooooooooo and put herself between me and the keyboard and hitting log out while I was trying to reach past her to type. Luckily Marlaine won that competition! So we took a break, realized we hadn’t lost as much as we thought we had, prepared for combat once again and kicked the quest’s rear end.

For anyone else doing this quest I would advise the following… First of all, take a one click tele like an elf crystal or tele to Camelot, Fally or such – do not depend on a glory or dueling ring for teleport quickly here. Take lots of good food like sharks and prayer pots or super stat restore. When running EAST to the cave, put on protect from missiles and just run flat out to the cave entrance. Once you reach and enter the cave, you’ll be watching a cut scene. Make sure you’re full hits and and full prayer, and put on protect from melee with auto retaliate on to kill your 10 trolls. Switch auto retaliate off, keeping protect from melee on, and face the big troll king. Basically keep running in and hitting him. Every time he knocks you against the wall, eat and run in and hit, checking prayer often and keep repeating. It’s tough but eventually, you will kill him. You could probably also stand away from him with protect from range on, and mage or range him.

Grudge
Well I just got through watching a movie called the Grudge.

Pretty good but, why she’d want to kill anyone beats the hell out of me, going by their storyline… anyone dying from extreme sorrow or rage gets locked into that emotion. Well she died being sad and scared, so did the kid, not in a rage, maybe if it was the guy I could understand but oh well.

They lost the plot in their own storyline is all I can say.

still fletching away, -7 degree farenheight, 110mb.com trial, fletching

gotten down to -7f or -21c Actually it ended up getting down to -10f (-23c) with a -25f (-31c) windchill tonight so absolutely subzero whichever temperature scale your using.

apart from that just doing fletch as always, well until I get 99 fletching anyhow.

I’m Also trialling a new free web hosting service at 110mb.com. they offer ftp access 2gb of storage, 100gb bandwidth, forum support as well a ticket system, mysql and more, hell if your looking for a free hosting service I’d say either try them or Freehostia.com

Grrr, Archived Blogs, website book, Membership ran out

I have now resubscribed however. I had only unsubscribed in protest of 3rd party clients being banned. Jagex have seen the light so…..

1:12am – Just came back from watching Rocky IV, and I think I’ll just fletch with what time I have before I go to bed

My wife, Marlaine, and I are currently working on a book that includes tutorials on how to get a website up and running, inexpensively – everything from design to getting it hosted.Archived Blogs
I’ve also now started completed adding blogs retro actively from the blogs list over to here, once done, I’ll remove and have now removed those archived pages.

Internet Problems
Well, we had a lot of of internet problems today. Eventually, after 4 hours of working and calling Router and ISP tech supports, we got it working.
Seriously, I think they need to screen their employee’s a bit to provide people who can speak English better.
