No New Skill – YET – But…. Penguins Again!
Well, as the title says, the new skill isn’t out yet and it gives me a bit more time to get some more of my old back-logged tasks done. Lots of battlestaffs to make and alk………. I have been running orbs whenever I have a bit of time today. (I am experimenting with food again today. Who said don’t play with your food? An impatient parent, and I don’t blame them but there comes a time…. I am soaking mashed bananas in rum to see if that stops them from getting so awful brown.) {Yes – it does! Probably any liquor…}
Runescape has had a few times when you couldn’t log onto any world so they are having some adjustment problems or something. Nothing compared to when I first started playing. They were constantly fixing worlds. Of course, they didn’t have near as many worlds as they have now either.
About the new Slayer Creatures…………
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm……… Now I will have to go get that fire cape! I haven’t even tried for it for I don’t know how long. I was never keen on the looks of it and I’m still not. I am surprised that they are adding even more to the Slayer Creature roster at this time though. What happened to that Impling update I’ve been dying to see?
Three strykes and they are out – was the hint on Twitter………raised eyebrow…..
The Jungle Strykewyrms (Combat 110 – 150 hitpoints) – North West of Ooglog. Level 73 Slayer. It must be your Slayer assignment in order for you to kill. It hits 30 when it comes out of the ground and will poison you if you are in the way. It also has a binding spell for 5 to 7 seconds that will not allow you to run away or EAT and it occurs every 3 to 4 hits.
The Desert Strykewyrms (Combat 130 – 120 hitpoints) – East of Al Kharid. Level 77 Slayer. It must be your assignment. Appears as shadows on the ground and you must investigate it. Water skins or Enchanted Water tiara is needed because they are in the desert.
The Ice Strykewyrms (Combat 220 – 300 hitpoints) are level 93 Slayer and cannot be harmed unless it’s your assignment. You must own a fire cape to get it assigned to you and must wear the cape while fighting it. It’s vulnerable to fire-based magic….
Soooooooooo…………..
I’ve been working on Range some more…….. Under 300k to Level 98 Range! It’s nearing the time to track Penguins again but I am going into the Chaos Tunnels to work on Black Demons…………. talk about crowded! Since when are Black Demons so popular? I went to the Edgeville dungeon as usual but couldn’t find an empty world! With over 200 of those, waiting for one would take way tooooooooooooooo long for my level of impatience with them! Oh boy – after giving it a go, it’s way tooooo far to go…….. especially since the bank is so far away……….. what a pain that was! Ok – back to the Edgeville dungeon and world hopping until the Penguin time begins. At least having 10 Penguins in the book will tell me when they have reset when I check it to see if they are recent or not.
Probably possible that I will make an attempt to get the Fire cape after I get that Range level. Prime wants to give it a go, too, so I might go there after dinner.
Oh – and – I had a couple of weird glitches at the Aberrant Sprectres in Sumona’s dungeon…. The Slayer Helmet disabled itself out of nowhere and I choked to death while running around picking up charms. Also the Cannon disappeared without any warnings of any kind. I scrolled back unbelieving since I was actually watching because I was picking up stuff that dropped from the Abbys. (Wasn’t even reading!) When it decayed later, after running to the Cannon Dwarf to get another, it showed up twice in striking red letters as a warning.
While working on the Range level, I’ve been getting assignments as usual. Those charms are stacking up nicely and another Summoning level might be possible soon. I’m going to have to catch up with those air battlestaffs first to get some gp set aside for the shards. I spent some time in the Poisonous Wastelands working on Warped Tortoises for the shells so……… at least I have a few of those handy beasts of burden again.
Added note – the Soul Wars cape seriously extends the time your prayer lasts. I almost forget that I have to check it! Good thing I can usually withstand a couple clunks when it runs out and I do carry a couple emergency rocktails most of the time. I couldn’t do a thing about that slayer helmet death though except get back quick. Primefalcon ran down and blessed the gravestone moments before I got back….. Thanks Hon!
