Level Level – Time For Another Level?
Since a new skill didn’t come out today, I have time to do more levels. I wasn’t planning on doing a Hunter now level but – shrugs. I might be able to get that second level fairly quick. I don’t know. I am also thinking about doing a Summoning level with all those charms I’ve been getting from Slayer assignments. I would have to do some granite mining to get enough together for all the crimson charms. Also some obsidian charms from Karamja………….
So – most likely, the new skill is at least a week away – Jagex pointedly said there would be no more updates this week. That means I will have time to get another Range level and probably a couple other levels. I was a bit ticked that I hadn’t noticed how many glories were dead and was kicking myself for letting those go so long. The article up on eHow has more on How To Prepare For A New Skill and I am definitely taking my own advice. Prime are you? He said yes, yes! (He’s actually thinking about what I’m making for supper at the moment and a bit distracted…..) He’s off working on Hunting now, too, doing that barehanded stuff. Incredibly fast xp! I actually got 25k xp in Agility while working on those butterflies just today – at least twice that yesterday. Wow!
I decided now – after getting supper to a point that I need to wait a bit – that I will go for a Summoning level. At the moment, I am out in the Desert, dying of heat while mining granite with my Spirit Bird who I like to call Buzzard, after my beloved little cockatiel. I need a lot of it for those granite lobsters.
I still have those Penguin points and I might use them on this level – don’t know yet. If the points were a set amount, I would definitely save them for a new skill. If I could put genie lamps in the bank, I would also be saving those up but not to be using on the lower levels of a new skill. It’s still bugging me that I can’t finish the Elite portion of the Ardougne Achievement Diary – raised eyebrow – but in a really great way!
As you know from the last post, I put this aside to do the Penguins for the week and put those Pesky Points on Summoning. I did not put this weeks points on anything though – thinking of holding them in case I get within 35k of the Summoning level.
I mined a great deal of granite and have more than enough obsidian charms to work with on this next Summoning level. I am just about set to start working on that level.
Just a quick remark about the tokkuls….. I don’t know how or why anyone would get enough tokkuls to buy an onyx stone. 2.7 million tokkuls per stone……….. 90k for an obsidian cape. (I had one drop when I was getting the obsidian charms! Nice bit of luck there!) Now, when you are wearing the Karamja gloves, you get absolutely no discount. It seems the amount of tokkuls dropped is higher but it would still take forever to get enough together to get the gem.
I decided to try getting some swamp lizards for Summoning……. Level 85 Swamp Titan seems to be the best thing you can do with Crimson charms and gives about 50xp more than Granite Lobsters. I try to use seconds that are easy to get and these lizards are more than easy – they’re fast! Three nets keeps you pretty busy and you can store them in a beast of burden. I use my house tele, then the portal I put in for Canifis, making it a very quick turnaround loop to get back to the lizards. They are just south of the Agility Entrance for the werewolf course. I’ve gotten over 80k xp in Hunter while just getting enough to use with the crimson charms I already have.
Shoot – a lot of people are after them because the go for 1.4k on the GE minimum. It’s later in the day and I’ve been working at gathering those lizards on and off all evening. It’s getting to a point that getting a Hunter level would be very quick if I ran over to those butterflies again. Now, I’ve got enough of those lizards for a future go at Summoning and I won’t have to make any Granite Lobsters at all for this level. (I’ll probably sell the big granite chunks I haven’t cut into little pieces yet but keep the little ones.)
My brother, Cyclecyco, is coming over tomorrow and all three of us are going to go see Avatar………. in 3D……….. Can’t wait!
