New Slayer Master – Kuradal In The Ancient Caverns
This morning, I was just logged in, mindlessly hunting more Pawyas and Grenwalls when a system update started to count down. I stumbled into the kitchen for coffee, looked out the window to see a nice white blanket of snow, turned the thermostat up one degree to take the bite off the cold in the house and returned expecting to snuggle up with the computer and a couple of books we picked up from the library – and what a surprise – a full update centering around Kuradal, a new slayer master.
You must have at least level 75 Slayer and 110 Combat to be able to request an assignment from Kuradal, who is Duradel’s daughter. She is now the highest Slayer Master in the game. Therefore – you will receive 18 slayer points whenever you finish a slayer assignment that she’s given you. Since she’s the top Master, she is also the Slayer Master to go to when you reach Level 99 Slayer.
To get to Kuradal’s new area, just take the route you usually take to the Barbarian Dungeons using the waterfall ……or fix that fairy ring (BJQ) next to the escape log near the waterfiends using 5 bittercap mushrooms and a spade (update was on the FORUMS last week)!!!! I saw that little tidbit in the Ancient Caverns info in the Runescape Manuel! I don’t remember seeing anything about it before and I am going to go there to fix it ASAP!!! (Step into the middle of the two rings west of the log and use the shovel/mushroom on it while in the waterfiend area. Once fixed, it will teleport you right into the middle of waterfiends with no problem, including having a full beast of burden with you!)
Of course, you have to have done most of the Barbarian training to get into the Ancient Caverns. The main area of the caverns have not changed. You need to go south to find the rough hewn steps and go up to find Kuradal at the entrance. (If you remark that she’s only a girl and you are a warrior, she will stun you and zap you out of the caverns.)
Unless the creatures in the Kuradel’s dungeon are your assignment, you will not be able to attack and kill them. On the other sword hand, they can and will attack you. There are two Agility shortcuts – the wall climb to the north (level 86 Agility) and the wall run to the south (level 90 Agility) if you have the agility level high enough to get through them.
These are the creatures within her area of the dungeon:
Greater demons (level 92)
Gargoyles (level 111)
Blue dragons (level 111)
Hellhounds (level 122)
Abyssal demons (level 124)
Dark beasts (level 182)
Iron dragons (level 204)
Steel dragons (level 263)
The unconventional assignment she has for Slayer Task is………….
TzHaar creatures including the Tz Tok-Jad (level 702) but the TzHaar creature is your choice. She will ask you if you want it upgraded to the Tz Tok-Jad for a special reward. The reward is 25k slayer xp!!! You would have to go all the way through to the Tz Tok-Jad – 280 TzHaar in effect – to get the reward and the fire cape, if you haven’t gotten it already. It takes about 2 hours to finish.
Also………… any of the creatures in Kuradal’s Dungeon might drop a ferocious ring that can teleport you into the dungeon five times before disappearing. It also acts as a ring of life and adds +4 damage to the slayer creatures in the dungeon when you hit them. Some assignments can up to 250 creatures when Kuradal assigns them to you so be prepared!
Here are the assignments and possible numbers:
Aberrant spectres – 50-250
Abyssal demon – 150-250
Black Demon – 190-250
Black Dragon – 40-90
Bloodveld – 180-250
Blue Dragon – 120-200
Dark Beast – 150-250
Dust Devil - 150-250
Fire Giant – 170-250
Gargoyle – 150-250
Greater Demon – 150-250
Hellhound – 130-220
Iron Dragon – 60-100
Kalphite – 170-250
Living Rock Creature – 140-200
Mithril Dragon – 4-15
Nechryael – 140-220
Skeletal Wyvern – 40-90
Steel Dragon – 40-100
Suqah – 50-100
Terror Dog – 60-80
TzHaar – 80-110
Warped Tortoise – 150-240
Waterfiend – 170-250
One of the first things I wowowed at, after noticing the assignment amounts, is that we will be able to do steel or iron dragons without interference from the other type of dragon!
I will be adding more info as I find it!!!
If you talk to her though additional dialogue, she will hint that she might be in the Caverns specifically to get to Lucian – kill/capture with kill taking the priority in her thinking. So there will probably be a quest here in the future. As you speak to her, different slayer beasts try to escape and she easily whallops them back into their places………
Drat – she won’t let me in even though I have Greater Demons unless she assigns a task to me so I will go do my Greater Demons and return later…………. Well, she won’t let you in that area unless your assignment is from her and one of the creatures in that dungeon. Drat! I was hoping to be able to look around even if I had a different assignment. Added info – once you finish your assignment, you can not kill any extra of the creatures.
While you are in Kuradal’s dungeon, it adds 4 damage to the creature you are working on, no matter what style you are using – range, mage, combat…………. every hit! You must be wearing it. It will also act like a Ring of Life. Once out of the dungeon or your assignment is done, it reverts to a simple teleport. Keep one charge on it to use while in the dungeon unless you are lucky enough to get additional rings. Using the Fairy Ring puts you very near the spot the ring teleports you to.
At the end of her area is this strangely detailed scenery – what what that will be for???? Leading into a new quest area maybe? Ohhhhhhhh – it’s the Dragon Forge!

You would have had the option to go after the Tz Tok Jad or just do the number given of the TzHaar. The special reward is 25k xp going toward Slayer when you kill the Jad!

Your blog is great.
I read it all the time.
Thanks.
I tried the same thing as you with my greater demons task from Duradel – no way was I getting into Kuradal’s cave. Next task i got Abby’s and the new ring – it’s fantastic!
