Smithing, Smelting, Smithing, Smelting….. Stars
This is the part that gets toooooo long………… smelting all that ore I saved up while getting the mining level. Smelting gold is great for xp with the Gold Smithing Gauntlets on but just not that much you can do with the gold afterwards that helps xp except crafting. I’m pretty high on the crafting high scores already and have over 900 orbs waiting to be attached to battlestaffs – so will be higher soon without doing anything with the gold. Making the addy plates actually gives more gp per plate than the battlestaffs and no buying something for 7k per either so it’s pretty much pure profit for me. Even though I have Miscellania giving me coal, I mine a lot of coal when I am super-heating in the Mining Guild. (Making natures, some doubles, with the free rune essence I’m getting from Wizard Cromperty’s daily giveaway.) Coal, itself, can be sold at a profit from Miscellania. It costs about 90 gp per but you can sell it at about 205 per ATM on the GE. The price of coal is going up and down but still I would need coal to keep up with all that addy, mith and rune I’ve been mining lately.
I have also been lucky enough to stumble upon a few stars lately – wow! Came across a size 6 in Lleyta yesterday evening with only two other people! So now I’m under 1172k xp to 99 mining from 1,228,825…….. oh those numbers are daunting! I’ll feel much better when it’s below 1 mil xp!!!
I did get 1500 of both mith and addy made into bars so now I can have the fun and change of scenery while making them into plates.
I’m under 180k to a smithing level now – yipppppeee!!!!!! Closer and closer with lots of bars left to smith!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Doing the Dailys and then have to feed my girl buddy and the cats. Then get the Prime Pizza in for Prime and me……….tons of mushrooms and extra mozzzzzz…… smiling……… mouth is watering already…… We are revisiting all the Matrix movies this week. (Since I told Prime about my vision concerning Keanu Reeves…. )
Back to smithing and under 120k now. Getting even closer! Sure not going near as fast as when I’m smelting gold though. Under 1.15 mil for mining level now, too – I know that sounds high but it’s the last level I HAVE to get.

You may want to try the living rock caves north of fally, it’s basically like woodcutting or fishing now, you can just more or less stand in one spot until full (most of the time). There are some dangers, and you need a high mining level to mine there, but there are safe spots all over, and just wear good armor and bring an enchanted excaliber to heal you (which wont be needed often). Plus you can deposit from there without leaving.

I got most of my gold ore from the Living Caverns – yes – I agree. It’s a great place to get mining, fishing and combat all at once. Unfortunately, I don’t get smithing down there……….. hehehe………. there are anvils on the floor above though.
