The Runescape Thanksgiving Event is here. Starting November 23, 2009.

Go to Lumbridge and find the Cook’s Brother. He’s got a problem that he needs a little bit of help with!

You will find an army of Turkeys in a field to the north. Plan on doing more than basting these special turkeys. They have been fed special food to make them lean that seems to have also made them mean. The Cook’s brother will take you directly to the battle field if you are ready.

These are level 138 Turkeys – no little drumsticks among ‘em. The Cook’s brother gives you a potion to drink that will help you take those big bad birds on. Actually, since he was the one who gave the turkeys something that turned them into mutants, I would normally be a bit reluctant to drink it but I had to drink it or not be able to continue with the event. Raised eyebrow….. What the heck was that, anyway?

Go in and kill them all. The Cook’s brother will be so glad…….

He will take you back to the kitchen in his culinary style! You will get the Turkey emote unlocked if you didn’t get it unlocked last year.

Sorry – other than that, I did not see any reward from this event.

Added note: Jagex is saying on the forums that there will be more to the Thanksgiving Event later this week. I know the Event still hasn’t been announced officially on the home page yet. Mod Emilee promises that there will be something for questers released next week – I am supposing it will be a quest related to Thanksgiving? We will see……

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving to all of you who enjoy this US Holiday. Prime and I got a monster chicken (over 7lbs!) for our supper because neither of us really like turkey. I’ll be roasting it like a mini-turkey, nevertheless…….. with stuffing and baked sweet potatoes on the side – yummmmmm!
