I noticed while doing the Web Of Shadows Event, I seemed to be almost the only person with a Scythe. I started Runescape after Easter and before Halloween in 2003 – because of a leg injury….. ~talk about pain!~ so I missed getting the Bunny Ears but got the Scythe. While looking around on Runescape event drops from the past, it seems so sad that they stopped giving surprise drops because that probably was dang fun! But I also see that people were hoarding the items to make their value go up – pretty much the way merchanters are doing now with the most mundane items. Too bad greed is such a basic instinct with so many people when they know that no one knows who they really are and they know they can get away with it…. shrugs. I could have gotten a Scythe for my other accounts too but one was enough really. I remember now that not everyone actually could get one though.

When I first started, I found a pile of items and thought it was a Runescape drop because a friend had been telling me about the Holiday drops. I think I got a iron plate leg and a couple other things that helped me out a lot at the beginning. Later, I realized that someone had gotten killed and lost their stuff. Now if someone gets killed, you won’t find much in the pile. I don’t know how many times I’ve dropped food for someone doing the same slayer assignment but they never even see the monks or whatever.

So I am back in the Living Caverns and mining gold. It’s going relatively fast, too. Primefalcon bought a Dragon Pickaxe and I am trying it out. I am not really sure it’s going faster than when I am using the Adze. I have found that same strange inability to mine any ore – gold, addy, or rune – when someone else is right there competing with me. I have not noticed any increase in speed or, when wearing the Varrock 3 plate, more frequent additional ore. I, personally, am not going to go out of my way to get one of my own. It’s not that much better than the rune pickaxe, just as the Dragon Hatchet is not seriously better than the rune hatchet. Heck – neither is that much better than the other, lower items and sure doesn’t justify the price. I would still be using the rune tools if I hadn’t been able to earn the Adze.

I’ve also been whittling off 100k chunks of Thieving at a time. I’m under 250k to the next level now from over 600k. I love that new Ardougne cloak 3 and the old Gloves Of Silence combo! I actually counted more than 100 successful consecutive picks off an Ardy Knight! The Paladins probably will never be that easy – even at 99 Thieving. I’ll see if I can get that down under 200k before I leave for the night. Dang it – lost another pair of gloves! Sigh………..

Now – about the Impetuous Impulses mini-game ——— yipppppeeeeeeee! They are going to adjust it! Make it more worthwhile to do and I’ll do more! I really enjoy those little cuties anyway and I would love to see it upgraded!
