Thieving Has Stolen My Time!

Well – thieving hasn’t actually stolen it but I got a bit sidetracked with it. While looking up little tidbits, like xp per pick with specific people or chests, I saw Dorgesh-Kaan average and rich chests. I had forgotten about those and went over to check them out again – besides I had a few long bones and some perfect shells to turn in so it was a nice bonus thing to do. After a few rounds, I remembered why I tried it and didn’t go back. It’s way too fiddly – going up and down the stairs and ladders into single rooms and upper floors and way down to the lowest level and back up again………….. and – even though you get unlit light orbs and wires to make them lit – it is dang far and few between finding a light that needs replacing!

About seeming to be invisible to the guards in Ardougne Market – it says “Your Ardougne cloak hides your nefarious thieving activities from the guards and stall holder.” Yup – they can be surrounding you and just about touching you but……… you get off completely undetected…….. Scott…. who the heck is Scott Free anyway?

Another thing I found out and suppose I knew it, but forgot when I first had some made – The gloves of Silence degrade. You either have to keep getting dark kebbit furs and have them made for 600 gp using two furs or you can fix them yourself with a needle, thread, a knife, and one dark kebbit fur.
These are the 6 stages of decay:
* “Your gloves are new.” They are new until 50 failures.
* “Your gloves are in good condition.” 30 failures to go.
* “Your gloves are starting to look quite shabby.” 17 failures left.
* “Your gloves are starting to need repair.” 10 failures.
* “Your gloves are in need of repair!” 3 failures.
* “Your gloves are about to fall apart!” You have one failure left before they disintegrate.
So you can be clunked or zapped 111 times until you lose them or 110 times to repair them. Just use the check gloves option to see how your gloves are holding up.

I had wondered what happened to the pair I had been wearing when I banked and just grabbed another pair while I was there. When the second pair was suddenly gone, I went looking for some answers. But I also saw that Knights in Ardougne are even better as the best to pickpocket than before. While the Paladins are higher, two successful picks of the Knights gives more xp than one Paladin. Considering the speed you can pick Knights, especially while trapped in the northern shop of the Ardougne market, there is very little reason to do the Paladins even when adding in the chests in the castle because there is a lot of run back time and banking the rewards from the chests – plus having to eat a lot more food. Granted, the Knights might get a bit boring but you can break up the monotony by luring other guards into the shop.

Smorgasbord Thieving

I am going to the Falconry area right now because those gloves in tandem with the cloak 3 is great! And to answer an unasked question but something I was wondering about – yes you can take a beast of burden into the Falconry area to take more furs back to the bank with you. Normally, I just leave all the furs. I see that the Gloves Of Silence are tradeable – so it might be worthwhile to make and sell the gloves? 1.8k mid-price when I used the price checker in the game menu. Would cost 600gp to have them made………

Well – as I was working on the kebbits – there was a system update. So now the Halloween event is out! It’s called Web Of Shadows and starts when you enter the dark house portal south of Falador. I’ll be heading over there in a couple minutes to check it out.

There have been a few adjustments in the PvP fighting rewards. Too bad so many people can only think of how to get the most instead of just having fun – not matter who it hurts. Same as the merchanters – always ruining it for others. I am just glad I didn’t need any coconuts while 2Lum was upping on those! Serves them right that a bunch of their greedy clan started dumping their stocks before the intended price of 12k a piece was reached! I don’t go to PvP worlds and I
don’t want anything to do with merchanting clans. I think the coconuts were 1 to 2k before they decided to target them – and they went up to about 6k.

I’m glad people can keep their member stuff if they have to go to free for a while. I’ve had so many friends give up their stuff but when we could freely trade, I often held stuff for them until they could get a members account again. I’m not sure I care one way or the other about the number system though. Too bad they couldn’t keep the total used and total available on the side or something.

I wonder if the total re-pick option on fruits, berries, and mushrooms works with the Giant Ent…. Guess I’ll find out the next time I do a round for the papayas.

Oh – on my usual daily do things – I went to Arhein in Catherby to get my pineapple and seaweed and he now gives them both to you noted so no more back and forth for either or using the seaweed nests to get the seaweed all in one trip. Wowow…….. talk about a nice break!

Ok – Off to slash some webs…… after I put my furs away and try to put together a costume. I wish Jagex hadn’t ruined the looks of the Cavalier! It used to be my favorite head wear. I think I am going to sell them off now.
