Lifting Another Thieving Level…..
I started the day at 141k to a thieving level and have been stealing around Ardougne pretty much – in between a couple of herb rounds and that ever growing list of things to do every day……..
64 Battlestaffs
120 Glorious Flax
80 Seaweed
80 Buckets of Sand
150 Pure Essense – BTW, Wiz Cromperty will give them to you daily at 8pm Central time (US) whether you have your cloak with you or not.
Oh yes – and check the Vine in Ardougne…….. Give it a snip snip here and a snip snip there whenever it gets out of control. 2.5k Slayer xp for the effort!
At the moment, I’ve gotten within 25k of that lovely level. When using the Gloves of Silence and the Ardougne Cloak 3, sometimes the Knights can be standing right next to me and I can still get away with a gem from the stall. I told Prime to try it and he agrees that they don’t even seem to care if you’re stealing right under their very visor! I have actually picked the Paladins over 5 times in a row without getting clunked, too! Before the cloak, I would say my success rate was 1 in 4 tries. After I get this level, I am going to try those blasted Watchtower Guards (137.5xp) – they were so beastly to me that I quit trying to thieve them! After that – I’ll try the elves (353xp) and the gnomes (198.5xp) – since the Cloak 3 influences your thieving all over Runescape.
Under 20k now and it’s going fast so I will go get that level now and get a screenie!
Here it is………..
The Paladin chest – upstairs in King Lathas’ castle – teleports you to the northern Ardougne bank as promised (instead of Witchaven) and so does the blood chest just North West of the northern bank. With the influence of the Ardy Cloak 3, the Paladins are much nicer to work on because the success rate is so much better! They still cluck you 3s pretty often so I have to take decent food – monks – to be able to stay in there for a while…… the chests don’t give the xp that the paladins give when you keep working on them but working on both sure adds up. After all, there is still a bit of a run to return to the north or south wing and just doing the chests for (let me check) 151.75 – no wonder I kept thinking I was miscalculating the xp! Not many people work on them though – I’ve only seen my friend, Catm8ndo, working on them in the last year! In case you don’t know where it is, the location shows on the mini-map – both ends of the horseshoe have chests and Paladins….. It really is good xp – the chest gives 500px, 1k gp, 1 raw shark, 1 addy ore and an uncut sapphire.
The problem with the blood chest is that Jagex took away one of the chests – there used to be two. To be honest, even two in there wasn’t quite worth it to me to go picking the lock, especially if someone else was thieving them too. Now – shaking head – even the tele to the bank still doesn’t make it worth it because the respawn time seems to have been increased as well.
I’ve added the Ardougne Achievement Diary to the Achievement Diaries page to the right. I forgot to post this last night because I was zonking out while Prime and I watched a movie after dinner – zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…………. and stayed awake just long enough to shut down my computer. Here it is now though – and I am not sure what I am going to focus on next in skills yet. I could smelt 4k addy ore and 3k mith ore – zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…….. I could mine gold and coal in the Living Caverns and do a bit of fishing………… (I don’t expect to do much monk fishing from now on – the rocktails are just tooooooooooo good!) Maybe I should do some Summoning – raised eyebrow……… it will be a long time before I will finish that elite set of tasks even though I’ve done four of the five already.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh yes – I wanted to mention the fact that I am just one level away from being able to do double natures! That is one of my goals – to get 91 Runescrafting but I did get that last level almost entirely by applying penguin points, experience lamps from the diary, and genie lamps! Once I’ve gotten the 91, I will be putting the penguin points toward prayer – or summoning to save some gp. 556k to 91 Runecrafting. 352 to the next Summoning, leaving ONLY (the word is dripping with sarcasm) 6 levels of Summoning…………. We’ll see what gets to me when I get on. Have some things to do first before I can go on the game though.
Last little comment…………. As I said before, I am watching House MD episodes and saw an episode called Half Wit. I was curious about the guy who could play the piano incredibly well in spite of a brain injury. I wondered who the actor was….. Dave Matthews – a fine musician! He’s a really decent actor as well.
