Face Of The Future On Runescape?

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

I am on Lunar magic at the moment (getting closer to a crafting level again!) and decided to use the Talk-To spell – oppps – the NPC Contact spell and I noticed that one of the faces seems more – graphic than the others…. Sumona really stands out – doesn’t she? I noticed the better graphics even when we were doing the quest that introduced her – Smoking Kills. Perhaps it is an indication of the new graphics even the high and low detail people will get to see?

Face Of The Future - Sumona

Every so often I try to stay on Lunar but the problem is high alking. Since I do that so often, and tele to places not on Lunar Magic, I just don’t care for it as much. I like the checking in with Miscellania, especially when I have a spirit tree growing and can’t just tele there in my Al Kharid phase of the herblore rounds. CIP using the fairy rings is good, true, but I still have to run over by the spirit tree patch to pick the white berries I have growing there. Getting the berries is more inconvenient using CIP (Check In Person) and not quite as worth it. I do not like going to the Elf area for white berries – that’s even more inconvenient to me. I sure wish there was a one use spell on standard magic like there is on Lunar – then we could get to Lunar Island a lot faster and change over to Lunar much easier if we wanted to be on Lunar. I save up a lot of seaweed and sand before going there now and I always grab a few more sugah teeth for the Spirit Tree watch over payment while I am there! (I got a blue charm… 3 golds… 2 greens… but maybe one every 5 kills……)

I think all the graphics will be improved with the new update that’s coming in a week or two. People who won’t be able to see the new graphics will still be able to play in the detail mode they play in right now. There has been a lot of discussion about the new graphics and Primefalcon has been talking on the forums. He did a post on his blog about how they will work.

I am looking forward to the update. I played Classic Runescape – like I said – I am a Runescape Dino really. I didn’t play any other online games except Pop Games and stuff like that and I only played a few Sierra games – King’s Quest VI was my fav before I started Runescape. When they changed from Classic Runescape to the new, I didn’t want it to change – didn’t like it. Most of my friends didn’t really want it to change over either. Yet, we had to change. Once we got used to it, it was hard to go back to classic really. Whenever I think an update is too radical or different or whatever, I remind myself how much I fought to stay on classic and now – how silly I think Classic Runescape looks!

I can not raise another egg bird because I already have on. So what good are 20 to 50 colored eggs and why did Jagex make such a mystery out of them?

Ok – back to molten glass and another couple recipes for eHow……smiling……….. Oven Fried Chicken – yummmmm – just ask Primefalcon! Tastes like you know what……….. K…F…C!

BTW – Prime signed up on eHow, too, as – yup – Primefalcon and is on my friend’s list, along with my brother, Cyclecyco. For those of you who have been following the Saga of the Soaked Cycle —– Cyclecyco , alias Bear, has gotten his cycle dried up, revved up and on the road once again! His article – How to Get Your Harley Running After Being Submerged is how he got his bike up and running. The icon Cyclecyco uses on eHow is one of the pics of his bike that I took last summer. Prime’s icon is a pic his Dad took just before he came to America – adorable! Prime really only signed up on eHow so he could rate my articles and leave comments now and then.

The Misterium, And Other Matters

Primefalcon and I got the store up for Marlaine’s Musings. I will be adding things as time goes on but for now, the relaxation cds are the ones I personally listen to. I have a few others that I just can’t find for the store, which is a shame. There are many audio programs out there that are more irritating than worth it and I searched a long time for voices and sounds that help me relax when my mind is whirling over something or another! I wasn’t going to say much about real life stuff but – well – a bit of advice…. if you feel a tingle of dread or nervousness that grows as a bit of time passes, let yourself “hear” the root cause. Then, if it is a normal worry or fear, charge at it. But…. if it is an unknown and you are about to do something not so wise or not so necessary, hold off a day if you can. Once, as I was getting into the car to leave the house, a huge booming male voice inside my head said – “Go back into the house!” My boyfriend at the time was in a big hurry and exploded with rage when I pulled my foot back out and headed for the house. I heard him yelling and cussing with my every step back to the door. (I won’t write the words he was shouting!) At one point, I almost dismissed that warning voice, thinking I was crazy and we were already late for an appointment! I actually turned, trying to tell myself I was just hearing things. “If you don’t go inside, you will regret it!” is what I heard with such force that my heart began to race. …. oh yes … I would have regretted it! Smoke burst into flame in the garbage can next to my boyfriend’s chair just as I entered the living room. He had emptied his ashtray just before he left the house – I suspect – and a lit cigarette butt had just enough left to ignite the paper in the overfull basket. I scooped it up and ran to the kitchen sink, threw it in the sink and used the faucet sprayer. I had six cockatiels, five cats and a German Shepherd at the time – I would have regretted it to this day!

Geez….. my heart is thumping just remembering that one! I’m trying not to remember other incidents now! Don’t think of purple peanuts!

Well, back to the game stuff. These next couple of weeks will be without updates, or so Jagex said in their behind the scenes for June. I will take a look at the front page right now …….let’s see…….. nope, nothing new.

One thing I’ve been doing when I smith or craft things is high alk one and then set another up on the Grand Exchange. Sometimes I might get more on the GE and sometimes it’s better to just high alk myself. Since I have hundreds of steel plates, I’ve been leaving them on the GE. I would get 1200gp for them using high alk and The GE’s lowest price is 1300. I would actually sell them for 1100 if I could! One sells now and then but never more than 3 at a time. Since I have been smithing a lot lately and I haven’t actually runecrafted enough natures, it doesn’t matter if those steel plates sit there forever. I will be alking the rune swords though…… (not longs) for 12k+ and addy plates that I made yesterday, while I pick nightshades for herblore – after I make a few runs through the abyss. Even though the price on the exchange is a bit lower than alking and I know it would save a nature, they are not selling while I do the runecrafting – so those are worth doing myself. Magic xp really doesn’t hurt at all! I need the nightshade too and it’s too boring if I don’t have something else to do. I’ll also try taking the Macaw in while I pick and alk.

I did get Summoning level 70 and can raise a colored egg.

Summoning 70

Sigh….. how long have I saved those? So I can raise a pet bird…… those squirrels are really cute btw. I will go to the pet store and start an egg but I really don’t care that much. I had hoped those eggs would be birds you could carry on your shoulder or something. Is there anything really useful you can do with the cockatrice vari-colored eggs? So long awaited and now so flat with the realization of a goal.

Zammy Chick

I took the red egg to hatch it in the Yanille pet shop and then zipped over to the Catherby fishing store for the fish bait that I had to grind for the chick food. It hatched pretty quick – I alked rune swords and mith/addy plates while picking night shade and it was ready when I finished one load. It is sort of cute – looks like a chicken chick.
