If you want to see the updates, go to Runescape’s front page or For The Fun Of It. The new graphics are really going to be wonderful but I wonder how many of us are going to miss out on them……. My first computer didn’t really work with Runescape until a friend of mine told me to download another client and use low detail. Then I got this computer and was amazed when I could open the game and the map at the same time without lagging so badly. I noticed, while working on Mar’s 2nd, that the free worlds are horribly laggy on almost every world! When the ads kick in, they kick her out sometimes! (Good thing she’s only working on COWS!) That character won’t be on high scores any time soon but ………. well, I don’t work on her every day either.
I’ve been taking screenies for the second part of the Beginner’s Guide – I almost always want to spell Begging’s – tisk!

Strangely enough, I am working on mining on both of those characters at the moment. Mars is south of Lumby using that mining area that wasn’t there after talking to the Mining Tutor that didn’t exist when I started playing………… smiling. I have gotten a lot of questions about how to do things on free on this blog and – had to say I didn’t know. But now, with Mars, I see how interesting it has become even on free! I actually like the look I made for Marlaines2nd so much, I might change Marlaine over to it!

Marlaine is working the Shilo gem mines just to take a breather from those dang revenants. Even though I got great xp and tons of mith and addy, every time I talked to Primefalcon or turned to pet our dog or one of our cats – wham! I am under 100k to a mining level now – wowowowowie….. snicker. I think Mars is about 100xp to a level. Hehehehe! If you haven’t gotten the Karamja Achievement diary done and able to use those gloves you get, you are really missing a quick unlimited tele to Shilo and that wonderful gem mine! Geezzzz – I just got a Rock Golem and it now throws magic at you … a long way, too! Now, I sort of have to kill it. Oh my – the rewards are ……… ummmmm………. not worth it! 5 earth runes for killing it?

Well – after I finish a round of herbs and checking stuff, I am going to try fishing sharks in the fishing guild. I have been hearing comments about sharks being faster and I want to check it for myself. When I did some shark fishing while killing Vyrewatches, it seemed like I caught those sharks sort of fast! We’ll see in a couple minutes. …. … … …. …. …. … …. ….. … Nope, it is not any faster and in fact there seem to be less shark spots in the fishing guild than there used to be. Back to monks for me! Monks still seem to be the fastest – most xp fishing on Runescape.

Welllllllllllllllllllll ………… if the wolf scrolls work on revenants, why would you take them when they stick around for only 3 mins? I made more wolves because I wanted to try them out on Revs but, after three minutes – Poof!

………but………… Since they moved Hobgoblin mining deeper into wildy – it starts at 35 now – and over to the west a bit, I had a problem finding them at first. I pulled out the map and found it going almost directly north of Edgeville, swerving a bit west around the mountain and then following the west side of Bounty Hunter hill. I took the wolf there first, and just as I was wondering if a rev was going to come by soon, I got the warning that the wolf was going to leave. Why did Jagex take away the option to add time to the familiars? That is absolutely ridiculous! We should be able to spend some of our summoning points on that or even the summoning pot should help there but no – all you can do is watch it go or dismiss it!

I more than made up any inconvenience that having a rev kill me might inflict – with the first full load of addy and mith that went into the bank! I take only three things that matter – the glory, the pick axe and……… oh wait – I only take two things that matter to me. Because of the distance, (the wildy teleports are a fav hangout for revs so I don’t use them any more!) I take a super energy pot and four monks. I do wear a duelin’ ring but that’s just a habit of mine. Otherwise – I go picking.

….. but now…….
I have a new little helper!

The War Tortoise had over 41 minutes on it. I will have to look when I take another out. I assumed it had 30 minutes on it because most of the others I’ve used have 30 minutes. Ok – it starts with 43 minutes.

Dang – I took a screenie and somebody’s foul mouth messages are in it…………have to take another – but I did report him.

This is what I got in one trip using the Tortoise – my new favorite familiar! I will be going to Hobs for mining again and making the most of the time there! I had to run out a couple of times and change worlds because those revs sit there waiting for you sometimes. Now – even if I am killed and lose the Tortoise I have out, I can get more and make more of those. I will only lose the ore I’ve mined but not the xp I got from mining them. I like it! Since I broke down and BOUGHT avantoe seeds, I have tons of super run energy pots now. I personally don’t like using the familiars with their stupid Beat The Clock feature – I like mixing tasks when I do things so taking a carrier creature for making air orbs isn’t the best when I am going to fight red spiders and earth warriors for charms. Taking the Tortoise to Hobs mining is ok but I will go explore when I don’t have one summoned.

Because of the Tortoise, I got another whole spawn of the 8 addy ore out there! I want to try the rune rocks out there later but for now………. I think I am going for a mining level right now!

I’ve had to run from the revs a few times but once, I was petting our dog, while our cat was meowing for attention, too. You definitely have to keep your eye on the screen in wildy now. Primefalcon came out to bless my stone but I was already there picking up all my stuff. Then he got kill……….sigh…………. I told him not to worry – I had it under control!

Prime died moments after this screenie and both of us had a beautiful gravestone up but he logged so I couldn’t get a pic of it! The Brat!

You might notice that the pic he uses on his blog is slightly different than the one I am using here…… hmmmmmmm……… Wonder why? (Shisssshhhhhhhhh – I’ll sneak over to his blog and get a copy of it.)

I’ve been working on the Beginner’s Guide – Part Two and see that things have really changed in some skills. Fishing and mining is easier. Getting from Lumby to Varrock via foot and not tele is rather rough for new comers! I am going to get my skills and combat up to at least 20 everything on free before I do any quests. I need better armour and won’t take it from anyone so ……….. I have to figure out what to do next. When I did Marlaine, originally, I hated fishing and ranging. Those were the two skills I didn’t work on even when I was in free. I didn’t join members until I was about level 60 or so I think.
