Crafting 95!!!!!!

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

Well, I got pked at the air orb altar and lost a lot of cosmic runes but I got the crafting level any way! (Crafting more cosmics now!) I can not believe how fast that is going. I was on crafting level 90 & 91 so long that I never expected to get much higher than 92 but then they made it easier to get those battlestaffs and the seaweed! Maybe a lot of crafters grumbled about making it easier for every one but I went with it and used it to my advantage. (Let’s hope they don’t change it back!)

Crafting 95

The previous post, Herblore and Crafting, explains all the steps I’ve been using…….. it works wonderfully well! And now I am looking forward to not having to cook all that blasted seaweed for the next level……….. smiling! Now, I am getting close to am mage level again, too! A runecrafting level too but that goes much slower!

So far, only my unusual stuff has sold on the Grand Exchange but I don’t mind having things out of my bank and making space. I put a lot of potions and some maple logs on the market and it doesn’t bother me to wait. I like the Exchange……. the only thing is that you have to know what you want to buy and it’s name before you can bid on it. There have been a few articles of clothing I would like to have but I don’t know their names or what color they are called. We can always go on the forums for things though so I can always browse there but I do wish the Exchange has a browse function so I can decide if I want to bid on something – actually more of an auction function would be nice for those priceless things. I know Runescape is trying to get away from that though.

Grand Exchange – Going, going, sold!

Monday, November 26th, 2007

Here is the basic info for the Grand Exchange…….. I am going to go buy things from the shops that I normally buy to see what the heck the reference to changing prices below might actually mean to us!

Using the Exchange couldn’t be any easier:

1. Bring items you wish to sell or money to buy stuff with.
2. Speak to one of the Grand Exchange clerks to either put items up for sale or to make a bid on any items.
3. The clerks will take your items or money and look for a matching bid/sale to match you up with.
4. You may have to wait for your bid to be accepted or for the clerks to find a purchaser – then again, it could happen in moments!
5. You will receive a message when the trade has been completed and you can go to the Grand Exchange or any bank to pick up your purchases or money.

Members are able to make six offers for sale or purchase at any one time, while free-to-play adventurers can have two. To make best use of these, Brugsen has advised his clerks to accept stacked and noted items; for example, 1,000 cut diamonds would only take up one slot, allowing you to make five other trades at any time!

The clerks also have the ability to convert armour into ‘sets’, which will only take up one slot. To find a list of the armour types that can be made into ‘sets’, visit the Knowledge Base article.

Market Prices in the Grand Exchange:

There is a limit to the amount you can buy or sell items for in the Grand Exchange, which is generally set at 5% above and below the ‘market price’, and it is impossible to buy outside of these boundaries. This will create a stable economy that cannot be abused by players who seek to manipulate prices to the disadvantage of others.

The market price is affected by any trade that occurs in the Exchange. If an item frequently sells for more than the market price then it will rise in value, but if it consistently sells for less than the market price then it will go down.

Initial market prices for items were decided after extensive research by Brugsen and his market experts, so should be very close to the item costs you are used to.

This market price will not only be used in the Grand Exchange. You will find that the value of staked items in the Duel Arena will also change, as will the player stock in the shops of RuneScape.

Keep an eye on item values to make sure you are buying or selling at the correct time. Reading the market and anticipating when it will go up or go down is an art in itself! However, the alchemy value of items is NOT affected. So, whatever you do, DON’T go high-alching your party hat! You’ll still only get 1 gp, and you wouldn’t like that…

I will check Catherby first……. seaweed and pineapples – ok, they are still 2 gp each!

Here’s a pic of the Varrock Grand Exchange on its first day…. It’s North West of the West Varrock gate.

This is the center of the Exchange…….

The options dialogue box is confusing and the Clerk will tell you to talk to the Tutor or Brugsen Bursen.

Dialogue

Talk to one of Bursen and you will see a cut scene and a lot of explanations about how to use the Grand Exchange. I like it… at least so far…. I see a lot of people trying to sell things verbally instead….. probably not getting the prices they want. Oh wow! There are bankers on the spot too! So you don’t have to go back to Varrock to get things to sell or your gp!

Well, it’s a bit fidgety to sell things. If you make a mistake and take back your offer, it is given back to you as individual items instead of noted. Ok, if it’s more than you can hold, it is given back noted. Good. I wish we could see a list of what is being offered for sale though. It would seem the prices are off on somethings though.

Varrock West bank has changed now…. it has two sides of tellers. I am not sure why we would need more tellers but…… shrugs. You can collect whatever you bought or sold from any bank though.

I think they had an over load…….. I tried to sell some tree seeds and then one nature rune to test it and they can’t do anything at the moment. No matter what I try to do it says Unable to make a new offer at this time……… but just be patient, Jagex is working on it as I type. Of course, I see people panicking here and some saying – Too bad I just put my red mask up for sale! Yeah right – put a mask up for sale at these low prices +/- 5%……….. tisk………!!!!!!!!

Unable to Accept this Offer

Ok……….. it’s all fixed ……….. but what about this? Type thing in item wanted to buy and……… choose your lovely thingy……….smiling…….. someone was goofin’ around over there!
