Today has been one of those weird days. Sigh…….. Just when I think I can settle in and do some Runescaping, buzzzz, ringgggg, knockkkkkk, dinggggg donggggg, woof woof, meoooooooow ………. Isn’t it always that way?

I’m waiting for a new piece of equipment to get here that will help me in a business I am thinking about getting into. I’ve gotten the tracking number from the guy on eBay and have been waiting very impatiently. First it went to Florida, a second place in Florida, then Georgia, then another place in Georgia, and a third place in Georgia, then back to Florida – now, supposedly, it’s on the way to it’s final destination. Wisconsin…… Raised eyebrow – no wonder it costs so much to send packages!

ON The GAME – WOW….. I did my black dragons and decided to do just a couple more before leaving that lovely lost city. Wham – an ancient effigy! I could do all the tasks myself – unbelievable how fun that is!!!!! I got to do the 97 Smithing xp for myself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then it was time to do the assists. I got to do a 95 and a 97 Smithing assist – I loveeeee that. Yeah – no extra xp but I’m one of those people who’s missing the old way when I could just give people 10 potions of something they needed with no charge!

On top of that xp, I have that Dragonkin lamp and debating about what to put it on. I am getting so close to 98 Smithing!!!! I really want to use it on there. I would get more xp putting it on a higher skill than the runecrafting ………. I hate being undecided! The Penguin Points will also up either smithing or runecrafting a LOT – sigh………. I actually have to think it over! I just might devote all xp bonus stuff to Smithing until I’ve actually gotten the 99…..

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh WoWoW!!!! Another ancient effigy while doing my 267 Fire Giants assignment!!!! Let’s see if I can do this by myself, too…. Yes – I did and got 25k smithing with it. (Now I have two Dragonkin lamps on me!!!! Drat!!!) Guess the cycle has changed and now I’m getting the effigies!

Just for info – you can put the effigies in the bank but not a Dragonkin lamp.

Alll this before being able to do the Penguins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s getting seriously fun now!

Ok – Week 100 Penguins coming up! I think I missed the first 10 or 15 weeks – at least trying to do them seriously and all of them every week. Actually, at first, it was confusing since no one really knew where they would be every week. Now, the penguins are in specific areas and the spawn spots are well known. World 60 is pretty much the world to log into to follow the crowds who follow the Penguins. Whether you get on a chat or not, there are many ways to find out where the basic places are that the penguins will be in.

They have reset and are sneaking around, ready to track down for some great xp!!!!

3.) Mort Myre – In the Canifis Bank – Rock – 2 pts

5.) Feldip – Just north east of Oo’glog – Bush – 2 points
6.) Gnome Maze – South West corner of the maze – Bush – 1 pt
7.) Musa Point/Brimhaven – On top of the volcano – Crate – 1 pt
8.) Ape Atoll – In the Temple South East corner – Bush – 2 pts
9.) Goblin Village –South East of the village – Bush – 1 pt
10.) Dragontooth Isle – Ghost speak and 25 tokens to the Isle near tele – Crate – 2 pts
11.) Jim Bear – Falador well, south gate – 1 pt
You must have completed the Hunt for Red Raktuber quest to spot the bear.

Added reminder:
You get 2 points for some of the penguins only after you have completed the Cold War Quest.

These were quick and easy because there were none in wildy or in the Elf lands.

Well – I’ve been in a musty dark cave for a couple of days, alking air battlestaffs and picking up nightshade. I have Watchtower tele with me and tele back and forth whenever I am full up with nightshade. I’m gaining xp and gp – wow! I still have 400 battlestaffs left but have put 10 mil in the bank. I don’t even know how much magic xp I’ve been getting because I’m 99 and not watching for a level.

Tears today – which will help that Dungeoneering even if I haven’t gone in for a while. I really needed to catch up with those staffs and to study/take notes/write posts, etc. I should go buy today’s battlestaffs as well, along with getting those free pure essence, seaweed and sand. Checking the vine in Ardougne would also be a good idea since I’m getting closer to a Slayer level….. I will have enough nightshade to make a whole lot of super weapon poison after all this time though and those make decent gp, too.

Ok – I’m under 200 staffs to alk now and can start planning what to work on next………. Oh yesssssssssssss……… a slayer assignment of metal dragons might get an effigy to mess around with!

Later ….(fade out / fade in) I’ve done almost all my steel dragons – no effigy. They said they would be rare but I just hoped I’d get one to show………… I’ll finish that assignment and get another, hoping it might be an effigy thing.

Later again……… Dagas are my assignment this time and I did not get an effigy in the last assignment. Shrugs. Getting some nice Slayer xp now though and will go do that assignment after I feed our darlin’ dog and start our supper.

Later Later Later………… almost done with my assignment and still no effigy – maybe tomorrow!

Minutes later, after I uploaded the post………….. I got an effigy!!!! Honestly, I was going to go to sign off and leave for the night……… isn’t that always the way? (Click Pics to see it better if you’d like.)

I teled over to Castle Wars so I could get a good look at it. Sort of blah really!!

The next line it said was “Images from your experiences of fire and preparation fill your mind.” It gave me a choice between Firemaking and Cooking…………. shrugs……….. too bad not smithing and mining but then at least I know I can finish this one by myself.

Ancient effigies is a Distractions and Diversions and was released on June 15, 2010.

Oh – I restarted it and it changed to Fletching and Woodcutting. I was going to take Firemaking. Now, I’ll do Fletching.

I chose Fishing – hoping mine is high enough!

It repeated the above – As you focus, etc.
It gave me 25k Fishing xp! Now it is Gorged.
(It must have finished the Firemaking for me even though my clicker slipped………..tisk!)

Next it repeats the – as you inspect the ancient effigy………….
This time it uses – Images from your experiences of flora and fauna fill your mind………. I get to choose between Hunter and Herblore so I better go with Herblore since that is higher and this stage needs a level 97 minimum, I believe.

Now it says once again, “As you focus on your memories, etc…….”
It gave me 30k xp in Herblore!
Then – Poof! – it turns into a very strange lamp……

If you don’t have the necessary skill level, you can get an assist from someone who is high enough in a skill. You can use things that boost a skill if it gets you to a high enough level. An assister can use a boost, too.

If you can’t find someone to help but you want to get some xp from this event, you can give the effigy to Historian Minas in the Varrock Museum. He’ll give you an experience lamp worth 5k experience that can be applied to any skill over level 50.

I see that if you have the levels needed, this goes very fast!!! It has to be a pain to try to find someone who has the levels to do the different stages, keeping it under the 30k assist limit, effectively forcing someone without the levels to find 4 different people to help – tisk. GE on a busy world would probably be the most likely place to find people to help. With a minimum of 15k for about a second’s worth of work……….. who would actually say no if they haven’t gotten 30k assist xp already?
