Dang – I forgot to publish this post so …… shrugs…… now I will….. I did get 99 Range but the post about it follows this one………. Tisk!!!!!

It hasn’t taken long to get used to the changes for Life points/Constitution – although it was disconcerting to see a 127 hit or higher from the Ardougne Guards when caught pickpocketing at first.

Under 250k to 99 Range now. I have Aberrant Spectres as my assignment and thinking about getting the cannon. I’m trying to get the 99 cape more in Preparation For The New Skill when it comes out but it also seems to be a great way to prep for Bonus Weekend, too. (The above link is to my article on eHow for tips on getting set for a new skill.) I have always tried to combine tasks to get the most xp out of the time spent. Slayer/Charms for Summoning/Life Points (Constitution), plus skill or combat stats that might go along with the assignment or activity.

I have pretty much decided on doing Summoning since it is an expensive skill to train and the progress of it is limited to the charms I can gather while training on creatures that drop rewards. For at least 3 hours, the Bonus XP Weekend will give AT LEAST 2 times the usual amount, with the first hour starting out at 2.7 times and dropping rapidly.

That means, if I can get enough charms and seconds, plus Kyatts (Have plenty already) and Duelin’ Rings (Tons in the bank) to complete about 1 1/2 levels, I will probably get about 3 levels out of it – and therefore, finish the Ardougne Achievement Diary and will get the additional 400k xp for completing the Elite section of the Diary! From things people have been telling me, Summoning is becoming a big fav for the XP Weekend. Makes sense – but IF I could use ground bones and slime, that is what I would be doing.

I’m still wondering if having an XP Weekend is a way to get most people to dump their bank inventory. No matter – just keep the new skill in mind. We have no real hints to point to what might be needed to do the skill. Farming brought out a whole lot of new items prior to it’s release. Hunter brought out a lot of items when it was released with a few items introduced beforehand. I have wondered if bringing that Rune guardian to life is a bit of a prelude to the new skill…………….. Construction uses things that were around Runescape before it came out and new things that were added well before it came out – Teaks and Mahoganies – that weren’t of much use until we leveled up a bit.

Under 160k to the Range level and am working on Greater Demons in the Karamja Dungeon. (The Karamja gloves allows you to enter without paying any gp but you still need a wood axe to cut your way into the fighting zone.)

Now I’m under 123k to the level but have Living Rocks as my assignment and using the whip instead. Also getting some fishing and mining in while I am in the Living Caverns. The Living Rocks drop few charms though – but more green than any of the other. Ok – finished that one. what will my next assignment be? Tisk – guess I’ll be getting a lot of Slayer xp anyway but not range again – it’s 223 Dagannoths. Not enough cannonballs to make it worthwhile at the moment.

The gathering of charms is sure doing my Slayer a whole lot of good as a side benefit. The amount of gold charms far exceeds all the rest but we can only buy a limited amount of raw bird meat a day – which is very unfortunate. It’s been a couple of day, I think, but I just went over to Chargurr in Oggloog. I could only buy 10 ~ that is sad! You can go hunt birds for the meat – true – but I just don’t want to. We are supposed to have 50 stocked in the store with Chargurr – for how long? 50 per week?

Since I was in the Spa town, I took a dip in the energizing pool in the salt water spring and decided to do a Shattered Hearts run. I’ll have the full time because I did find all 60 shards this time, thanks to being able to run throughout the time in the other realm. Waterfiends – here I come! Ok – got 106 crimson charms!

I also have two strange rocks for Mining – so I will go over there now and turn them in at the Varrock Museum.

….. and get some xp!!!!!!!! 9.7k towards Mining for my character.

* You will get 10 kudos once you have completed the Statue of Dahmaroc….
* You also get xp for each pair of pieces.
* You get a statue plinth when you complete the statue for the first time that you can set up in your house’s study so you can build a replica statue.
* A Replica stone is given by Marius Giste when you complete the statue at the Varrock Museum. Not sure you will be doing with it yet……. I think we rebuild the statue in our house on the plinth but I don’t know what rewards that would give.

I personally don’t have a study in my house. Don’t really want one either.

I put up a new article on eHow today that actually was because of a real life situation that really upset me a great deal. It happened on my brother’s (Cyclecyco, alias Bear) birthday. The link isn’t set yet because they are still in the process of approving it. eHow has become much more like a regular hard copy magazine now with it’s editorial guidelines and submission process which makes it more of an accomplishment when they do accept your article.

Ok – they accepted it and the article How to Reverse An Unauthorized ACH Debit is up and readable. There was an odd element to this whole incident that I couldn’t discuss in the article – of course. When my brother, Prime, and I were watching a movie we rented for Cyclecyco’s birthday after midnight – I suddenly got this really antzzzzzy, sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. For me, that’s a head’s up from the ethereal world. Believe me, it is a pain to get these signals, especially when you have no idea where it’s coming from and you are trying to enjoy yourself. So – while CC had a cig during “an intermission” – Prime and I have both quit that yucky and expensive habit – I called my automated bank and heard that there was a debit just under $300 that I had no idea what it was for!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I go open and zero in on what is going on – and I “heard” checking account. Prime will attest to this because he was a bit ticked that I was taking care of business at such a weird hour and day!) I am telling you this here because the bank manager, who has become a real life friend, told me that incidents involving this kind of third person debit is becoming more and more common! Soooooooo……… head’s up everybody! I am someone so careful with my personal info that I NEVER even carry my check book with me! The bank manager and I discussed everything I did and narrowed it down to the use of a debit card at a Dollar Store! Be safe and check up on your bank balance frequently, either by phone or internet! The article does what it says – tells you what to do if it happens to you.

(BTW – the experimental cake turned out terrific. Only problem was in the center filling and I’ll have to adjust that before I can actually put the recipe up on eHow…. heehehehe, it was so light and fluffy that the top layer slipped off! I used a corn dog stick to hold the layers in alignment ….but it was sooooooooo good dang it!)

First of all, I got toooooo tired to get the level last night! I know it’s hard to believe. Thinking about ZZZZZZZZing through getting that lovely 99 cape is what decided the issue.

There was no update today but that isn’t too surprising considering the Bonus XP Weekend is zooming up on us. I am really looking forward to it now! Prime still doesn’t like it at all. Personally, I am getting all the charms I can to work on as long as I can during the weekend. In fact, maybe I should go get more shards so it will be another don’t-need-to-think-about-it part of the Bonus weekend.

I am under 35k to Level 99 Range and I have to say that I NEVER thought I would get this level or anywhere near it! I actually could not range well in classic Runescape. Some weird glitch or something odd about the keyboard I had at the time – who knows – that was a long time ago! I really didn’t start training it until I was a member at level 50 or so. Sigh – on classic, it was almost a shock to see someone over level 100, so keep that in mind for reference.

I’ve been working on my slayer assignment of black demons and using range. I am not wearing range gear – I got toooo tired of getting pounded while trying to pick up my bolts all over the place. I see I also forgot to grab my slayer helmet – though it doesn’t do a thing for range anyway. I do not advise my setup for anyone who is working on range. Oh heck, I have to bank any way………..

Under 30k to the level…….

I do recommend the Extreme Range potion if you can make it. If you can’t, all the extreme potions are worth getting herblore up to do!!!!!!! The overload is really best used when you can take a dose, eat well, and restock your food (with Rocktail for the over 99 constitution) before going into a fight.

Under 20K………..

Once I get this level, I will be training Slayer almost exclusively – I think. I have noticed a decrease in dispatching my victims using Range. Even though I have high range, and will have the highest in a few minutes, the whip is much faster. Note, I am not talking about Godswords here – I’m talking about the best weapon without having to sell a leg to buy it.

Under 5k……..

I’m really excited about this! I seriously did not think Range would be my next 99 when I got Level 99 Mining. I had sort of assumed Range would be about the last thing I’d concentrate on. After this, though, I suspect I’ll be strapping on my quiver only to do things like Mith dragons or Black Dragons, if I get them as assignments. Slayer is starting to feel like the next 99 – but I never set a 99 goal.

I enjoy the game more when I do what I feel like doing, not just trying to get a level. It’s sort of paid off – consider the Hunting update! I avoided Hunting and now there are those terrific butterflies that make getting a level so fast. Agility is a whole lot faster to level up in using the Gnome or Barbarian courses, higher level – even if it isn’t exactly more fun. So, who knows what will be next.

Got that lovely 99 Range!!!!!!!!!!

A bit of the bigger fireworks you get when you reach 99……..

I took a bit of time and finished my assignment, even though I really didn’t want to……..snickering. At least I won’t have to go back to Black Demons once I’ve got the Range Cape. (They really don’t drop many charms – though they do drop more crimson than any other color.) 209 done, so the next completed assignment will give that 10 completed assignment bonus.

Lordy – what a let down! Now when you go to the Ranging Guild and talk to the Armour Salesman, he doesn’t say a thing about the cape. You just trade him and buy it. That is really a say reward for actually being able to get a cape! The Master of a Skill used to congratulate you in a bit of a gussy manner but it was nice! Sighhhhhhhhhh………

Well – here’s the cape…………..

This cape is about the only one that matches up with things that go with it. Notice the trim is actually the color of the feather in the Robin and the green is the same as the Robin and Ranger boots. It’s amazing how high those two treasure trail items are at the GE! Gasp – 3.6 mil for the Robin and 14.75 mil for the boots! (I got these replacement boots just after the being killed by the newly added black dragons in Lost City! Heck- they were cheaper than the dang Robin – about 1 million or so!)

Oh well – off to do Tears and then – don’t know quite yet. I suppose I’ll need to get another assignment!
