This short Novice members’ only quest was released on 31 January 2012. It is a part of the Troll Warzone members tutorial, but can be completed on it’s own for members who have already completed Wolf Whistle, Druidic Ritual and Death Plateau. All these previous quests have been reworked and everyone can play through them even if they have completed the quests – and members will receive the quest rewards when they finish each quest. Extra warning to those familiar with the area before this update – everything has been moved around and graphically changed.

Tele in with a modified (chipped) teleportation tab.

To start the Let Them Eat Pie Quest, speak to Nails Newton just outside of the Pick and Lute Tavern in Taverley.

He will tell you that Rolo the Stout is buying up all the food in the area and reselling it to refugees at huge mark-up prices. He would like you to steal Rolo’s seal so Nails can use it on a forged letter stating that Rolo is releasing all the food to the refugees for free. Agree to help to start the quest.

Items needed but acquired during the quest:
Empty pot
A potato
Fishing bait
Raw Crayfish
Grain
Nails plans to nail Rolo with a pie that will put him out of commission for a while. Then he wants you to go upstairs and pick the chest near the table that Rolo keeps the seal in.
Soooooooooo…. first he wants you to make a pie crust with a load of fish bait in it that will make Rolo sick enough to leave his office. Rolo just loves all kinds of pies. Get an empty pot from Mess Sergeant Ramsey in the pub or at the watermill, some fish bait (maggots) that’s laying next to dead trolls across the bridge to the east, and then get some wheat from fields south of the dead troll. Listen to all of Nails’ advise or the mill will not let you make the maggoty flour.

Run north, back over the bridge and grind the wheat and bait at the watermill. When you get the flour from the ground flour it will be maggoty. Then go back to Nails with the flour.
Next, he wants you to catch some raw crayfish and then bury it either in the flax field, the wheat field or the animal pen for a while – until it’s ripe.

You’ll find the fishing tutor and a free crawfish cage from him. The fishing spot is just south of the tutor.

Find one of the three spots to bury the crawfish. You will go into a cut scene and bury it – wait – then dig it up when it’s ready.

Go back to Nails. He wants you to find a raw potato (from the farmer north of Nails) and ram it down a kebbit burrow to get it full of fur, droppings and other nasty stuff. It’s north west of the flax field in the snow. Just shove it in and pull it out – he says.
Take it all back to Nails again. He doesn’t want to see it but tells you to put it all together and find an oven to cook it in. There is a beautiful oven near Nails in the pub, north of the watermill.

Once it’s cooked, go back to Nails again. The pie smells so incredibly terrible that Nails Newton tells you that the smell will have to be masked somehow. Nails thinks Foppish Pierre, a wealthy merchant, might have some spices that might do the trick. He suggests you pickpocket the merchant just south of Nails and get some to sprinkle on the pie. When you add it to the pie, it changes from a Terrible pie to a Mouth watering pie. (Wish I knew what those spices are!)
Go upstairs in The Pick and Lute. Offer it to Rolo.

After a bit of convincing, decide to try it. You will have to leave before he’ll eat it though. You will go through a cut scene, counting down to the eruption. You can hear him getting sick if you have the sound on and it warns you that it’s going to get worse!
While they take Rolo out and clean up, report to Nails. He tells you to go back and pick the chest to get the Seal. Get it and take it back to Nails. Nails will stamp the letter and tell you to take it to Foppish Pierre. Pierre reads the letter and agrees to open the food store reluctantly.

Go back to Nails. For the time being, the refugees will have food and the town will have a feast.
