Time To Spy

June 30th, 2009

Well – for a change I am not busy doing anything else and have started the newest penguin list moments after speaking to Chuck in the Ardougne zoo right after the reset time!

So here is the completed list before I have to make dinner! Smiling! Lots of them are moving a lot, especially the desert and the Mort Myre ones. I did the wildy one last, shrugs, should have done it first and got it out of the way – it reset just as I was ready to go hunt it down and it reset near the Chaos Elemental! I mined a bunch of addy and a couple of rune rocks while waiting in wildy, and the penguin wandered over to the Ardy lever area – that was lucky!

Week 45: July 1st to July 7th
1.) Port Khazard – Just outside of the fense near the Gen Store – Barrel – 1 pt
2.) White Wolf Mountain – Way down the path – Rock – 1 pt
3.) Gnome Strong hold – Near the big tree – bush – 1 pt
4.) Desert – On the Menaphos side of Sophanem – Cactus – 1 pt
5.) Mort Myre –Far west, just outside of Canifis south gate – Toadstool – 2 pts
6.) Ape Atoll – was outside the city near the dungeon – Barrel – 2 pts
7.) Barbarian Outpost – By the raft at Waterfall – Bush – 1 pt
8.) Jatizso – Wandering inside the town – Rock – 2 pts
9.) Neitiznot – In Ice Troll area, use protect from missles – Bush – 2 pts
10.) Wildy – Near Ardougne lever, bring a knife – Rock – 2 pts

11.) Jim Bear –Fally well south of gate – 1 pt

Just as I was going to find the Jaitzso penguin, a size 7 star dropped and I tagged it – 7.8k xp for the tag!

Caught A Lucky Star!

The unfortunate part was that I was on world 60 with the Penguin hunting crowds – that level 7 tagged star didn’t get even 120 dust. You should have seen the ant-like trail of people running back to the Jaitzso bank after the star tubbed! Yikkkkkeeeeesssss!!!!! No wonder I didn’t get 200 dust! I think I’ll do a couple stars after dinner. Smiling!

Up Up and Another Agility Level!

June 30th, 2009

Since getting that last Agility level, I’ve been stopping over at the course and doing a few laps here and there. So now I looked at remaining xp needed to the level and I am almost down to the amount I needed when I did get serious about the level two days ago!

The herblore level is getting a bit closer, too, and I am really doing lots of herbs and gathering seconds now! After all, when it’s 99 one is going for, the going seems so much more exciting! Under 1,175,00 xp to go! So another round of toadflax and dwarf weeds and limps…… then back to my laps! Sad that Jagex made those super energies obsolete – sigh. I have a ton of them.

I’ve re-discovered uses for that explorer’s ring we got from the Lumbridge Achievement diary. It puts you very near the Draynor allotment patch and is unlimited. I had used it to make those seaweed nets and do like how close it puts you to the allotment. The one thing I had always depended on was a stop at Draynor bank using a glory tele…… I haven’t been getting out my belladonna seeds as often now but plan on picking while I high alk air battlestaffs soon anyway. It low alks things without runes but – I only used low alk at the point when I level up high enough to try it and decided it wasn’t worth using. It also replenishes run energy – shrugs…..

Primefalcon and I have also re-discovered the benefits of evil trees a couple days ago. So I’ve been breaking from agility to do the 2 trees for the day and then Tears of Guthix for the week. (177 Tears!) Lots of extra xp!!! He scouts to get up elders – smiling! That makes the evil trees worth it!

Ok now down to 85k to the agility level. I might go make a few agility pots once I get the level. Those are easier to sip while running around an agility course. I always advise that a person gets the level they need before doing a quest though because it wastes spots in the inventory instead of taking extra food – especially while doing a quest like Underground Pass. Even worse, the pot runs out on you right in the middle of needing it sometimes. While fishing – no big deal, just take another sip. Greenman’s ale pulls stats down the more you sip it. Agility runs out and you sit or stand there unable to get out.

I’ve been using a Macaw while doing the agility and it seems to drop a lot of grimy herbs – especially ranaars, avantoes, dwarfs and cadantines often. I am only using it because I had a lot of pouches made and a few hundred scrolls so figured I might as well use them. It doesn’t interfere too much with the agility because I just send it to look for an herb after a lap or two. Actually, I’m getting more per pouch using the laps as a timer. I occasionally dump the herbs in the bank, pick poison berries using the Spirit tree, and then go to the planted tree which gives oranges.

Under 50k to the level now………
Under 40K now…………..
Under 25k ………
Under 14k…
Got it!!!

Agility 87!

There’s no doubt that the new extended Agility courses are much faster than any other agility I used before. Now, I’m really glad I didn’t push getting levels past 85 before! I sort of feel bad for those who have gotten their agility the harder, longer way! I may or may not go for another level. I have to think that over. Doing the running back and forth for herblore and poison berries, plus doing evil trees with Primefalcon really helped keep the monotony out of getting this level. We’ll see. 415k xp to the next level – sounding kind of long now. Doing the Macaw scrolls and ending up with so many grimy herbs really helped, too.

I’ve been working on articles for MarlaineMarie on eHow and have put up a couple about using links to build traffic on your own sites. I am using that method to build category pages on StoreHows.com and it is the way I set up the Quest Guides page here. (A lot faster to open a specific article, too! I needed my banana bread recipe fast – used StoreHows to find it and got it up on screen quick!) Prime and I were laughing about the fact I use StoreHows as my recipe file system now but in truth, it is ending up being a basic cook book I can use any time. Plus a reference for a number of subjects I write about. I am playing with the idea of making the recipes into an eBook actually.

Tired now and tomorrow is Penguin Day – more Runecrafting whittled off…. Smiling!

Herblore Level About To Pop The Potion Cork

June 26th, 2009

Since I started working on the agility and saw how convenient and quiet it is in the Gnome Stronghold bank, it’s almost become my home base. I have a curry tree planted there and picking it whenever I see it’s got a few leaves on it – to pay for watermelons to be watched over. Once I have enough curry leaves for a while, I’ll plant an orange tree for baskets of oranges to watch over maples. I use the spirit tree to go pick poison ivy berries on Etceteria whenever I do the curry leaves and whip over to Miscellania once a day to do the popularity building. The curry has stock piled up a nice amount to make nightshade weapon poison++. (I still think of it as Super weapon poison.) The tree also takes me to the GE when I finish up making a lot of pots or need to buy something. Of course, it’s easy to check to see if an evil tree is about to sprout as well. It is one handy spot to camp out in.

Now, after stockpiling the seconds, and making a whole lot of potions, I am about to get Herblore 98! 21k xp to go! It dawned on me that I will only have to get one more level for the cape. It will be 1.3 million xp away but it will be the last long struggle to gather all of that stuff!!!! Since I enjoy herblore, I will be thrilled to just make pots I need and want when I want them.

Super energy pots and the Spirit Birds/Scrolls are nearly obsolete now and that’s a shame. The super energy restores half your run now, so instead of 4 or 5 sips to be full, it’s only two. The regular energy pot is useless really. The Agile Legs make running around last even longer. Shrugs……… They look a little odd – high in the back – tisk.

Getting right down to the last 10k xp now……… smiling! I have lots of Avantoe and fungi. Just went for a few more poison berries – actually starting a stockpile for the last herblore level because I don’t have any nightshade except my place holder.

The reset time has passed and I forgot to get my battlestaffs……. shrugs…… well I am just too excited about getting this level to care too much. I’ll go get them after I’ve got the level.

Just to prove that I don’t strictly plan out what I am going to do – I expected to be getting another Agility level by the end of today when I got on yesterday! I sure didn’t think I’d be getting an Herblore!!!

There it is!!!!!
Herblore 98

Phew……… just one more level that happens to be ONLY …..1,228,718 xp…. away! (And so the countdown begins!) It won’t be that high for every long! I still have a few Avantoes and haven’t even made any super anti-poisons yet – which I do use regularly. It’s an odd feeling to be nearing the end of something that occupies time in every Runescape day that I am on. Oh btw – my homegrown chives in rl are doing great, too!!! I want to get some parsley growing, too.

Well have to go feed our wonderful dog now. She hasn’t been eating much these last few days either because of the heat. So she is getting one great dinner tonight!

A bit more herblore, then off to do the rounds and get my free stuff! Then back to agility….. still need a couple levels to go so I can get the Agile Top……. Primefalcon reminded me about agility pots and the abyssal familiar whose scrolls up your agility by 4 – sorry, I don’t remember which one it is. (Ok he said Lurker….) I am usually more comfortable getting the levels first and then going for whatever because you just never know when those levels will drop out from under you – especially agility!

Ohhhhhhhh – just checked the evil tree and it’s about to sprout…… chop, chop, chop, chop……..

Yup – and it turned into an evil Yew. 100% rewards……. an acorn seed…….sigh. 18 noted yew logs and 22 minutes magic banking. Off to Lumby now to chop my planted yew plus the others there. It doesn’t seem to be any different if I chop my tree or the other btw – same time span…….

Have fun! Enjoy every day! Hugs, smiling!

Agility Legs…..

June 25th, 2009

When I reached the point that I had enough laps to get the Agility Reward, the message told me that I had the 250 Perfect laps needed to claim my reward. You do not accrue any additional laps in the tally. You can’t get a second pair. If you lose them, you can always go back to a Gnome Trainer and ask for it. The legs have a Destroy option so you can’t lose them.

Earned The Agility Reward

The Gnome Trainer said they might help in combat as well. Let’s see………

Agile Legs

They sure don’t look the same on as they look in your inventory!

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Really Agile Legs!

I’ve also been working on an Herblore Level. Picking the poison ivy every so often while doing agility sure has helped me stock up. Now, when I go high alk the battlestaffs after I finish them, I will go pick night shades knowing there are plenty of poison ivy berries waiting.

StoreHows.com is coming along and I put up a couple of articles on eHow. There are a lot of people with a lot of articles on eHow and good ones, too! I have been getting pretty tired of searching my list of articles and I know others would be even more tired of it than I am.

Studying a lot lately too. And trying to beat the heat…. sigh………

Penguins!!! A Bear! Where?

June 24th, 2009

Okkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk……….. I got that Agility level – as I said in an add-on to the last post. I’ve also gotten more than 50k whittled off the xp needed to get to level 87. That course is dang fast! I had gotten half way to 86 from just doing things around Runescape – I really don’t know what I do that works on that but obviously it’s the constant hopping and jumping I do in daily tasks. I always though it was from doing the Abyss but I just don’t go in there much any more so that is ruled out of the possibilities! I will try to pay attention for a while just to see what is giving me agility xp.

Fireworks Went Up The Pipe!

One of the things I like about this Extended course is how fast it is to do a full lap. Another is the fact that you are so close to a bank that food is no problem. A third is that you just do not run out of run at any time. Fourth, I can take a small break when I get tired of doing the laps and go do a round of herbs, get my battlestaffs, seaweed, and flax and come back raring to go again. If I get bored next, I am going to mix some pots for a while. Or put battlestaffs together. I’ve needed to collect curry leaves and poison ivy berries so I planted a curry next to the agility course and I have a poison ivy plant on Miscellania, where I also cut a few maples to regain popularity daily.

Of course – that is after I’ve found every camouflaged, icicle loving bird and bear on Runescape!!!! As always, I am listing the places I found the penguins on World 60, and they could be a long way away in just minutes! I also take the Penguin Book to be sure I’ve gotten them spied. The lag we get every now and then must mess up the spotting of the penguin or something. I did Elf first and made sure I had it before leaving the area! (I often try spying a second time to confirm that I’ve spotted it.)

Get Those Spyglasses Out Now!

Here is The List:

Week 44: June 24 – July 1
1.) Elf Lands – south of the Elf camp –Toadstool – 2 pts
2.) NW of Ardougne – West outside of Gnome Stronghold gate – Bush – 1 pt
3.) Castle Wars – North Wall in Yanille – Rock – 2 pts
4.) Feldip – South Wall in Yanille – Rock – 1 pt
5.) Piscatoris – south of AKQ near hunting area, west edge – Crate – 2 pts
6.) Eastern Karamja- South west of the shipyard – Bush – 1 pt
7.) Southern Desert – South East of the Bedabin Camp – Cactus – 1 pt
8.) Canifis – Near Slayer Tower yard – Bush – 2 pts
9.) Burthorpe – North east of town in smithing shop – Rock – 1 pt
10.) Wilderness – In Lava Maze, inside the Lesser Demon cage – Rock – 2 pts (Take a knife!)
11.) Jim Bear – Rimmington well – 1pt

The Circus is just North of the cactus patch in Al Kharid.

Take a super-antipoison when going after the Elf Camp penguin. I really dislike those myself but at least if you can’t get poisoned, it’s not so bad! I hooked onto a group that was going – otherwise – I will admit, I probably wouldn’t be able to find my way around out there!

Ok – now to turn in my points and get some Runecrafting xp. Then some dinner and back to running around and around and around and…….

I want to see those Agility legs!

Smiling!!!

More About Agility – Are You Nimble Enough?

June 24th, 2009

The first thing I did when I got on today was work on Agility…..

It’s hot here in Wisconsin today and may have almost hit 100 degrees F. I only know when I took our dog out at 3pm, it showed 98 on the thermometer. Phew – pre 4th of July, too! Cyclecyco is beating the heat with his AC but we hadn’t put ours in the window yet – now it is. Even at 7pm, it was still 89…..

I might be suffering a bit from the heat – just don’t feel like doing the penguins at the moment. I just have Bob, the evil cat, on the island and put a lamp on Runecrafting and remembered that it’s Penguin time………….. so in a bit – first about Agility.

I was 161k away from 86 Agility. Now it’s down to 62k. I had to do some stuff and go to the store so I waited until after dinner to get back to work on it and it is sort of late already. I am going for the level and if I still have some umph left in me, I’ll go track down some spies! I have gotten my battlestaffs, sand, seaweed and flax for the day! Wow talk about a growing list of things to get cheap or FREE! I also have poison berries planted at Eceteria and gather them whenever I think of it for the nightshade poison pots.

I have to point out that Jagex says you get 650xp for doing the Barrier Jump and finishing the lap but I only see 630xp added to my score. You don’t lose xp when you fail a section of the course, like the billboard sign – you get hits taken away.

The pieces of agility clothing are agility legs that you get from getting 250 perfect laps at Gnome Stronghold. You get the agility top from doing 250 perfect laps at Barbarian Outpost Agility Course. So – I will have to get level 90 Agility to start racking up the laps for the top. I am not even sure I want them but…. shrugs….. I have over 100 perfect laps so far and 45k to go.

Here is a list of the courses and the total xp per round:

Bandoes Throne Room Agility –
You need level 60 Agility, Ranged and Strength and to have completed The Chosen Commander to do the entire course. You get 125xp in Strength and Range using a grapple but no set course total or bonus. Total for a full lap is agility xp is 370.

Dorgesh-Kaan
Completed route (non-grapple) 159
Completed route (grapple)54 for both Strength and Ranged
Bonus Non -grapple path 891
Bonus Grapple path 571 Ranged

Werewolf Skull Ball – No set points
Werewolf Agility Course – Completed Lap 540

Agility Pyramid – Completed Pyramid 1014 if it is a perfect lap.

Penguin Course – Completed lap 540

Wilderness Course – Completed Lap 571.4

Ape Atoll – A full lap 580

Gnome Stronghold Course -
Lower – Completed Lap 86.5
Advanced – Completed Lap 745

Barbarian Outpost
Lower level – Completed Lap 153.2
Advanced – Completed Lap 725.7

*

Well – read and decide for yourself. I tried to get to the bottom line for xp per lap in the agility spots that I could find a specific amount. I used to do the Ape Atoll because it’s so quick to do a full lap. The Werewolf wasn’t too bad – not the skull ball. I think that the Gnome Stronghold is faster than the ones before. Of course, I can’t vouch for the Barbarian because I just can’t do it yet. I didn’t care for the Dorgesh Kaan before but I might check it out tomorrow.

This heat has gotten to me and I am just too dang exhausted so I will have to do the Penguin/Bear list and a get my agility level tomorrow.

Note from the next day – June 24th…. I did get the 86 Agility Level! I have 375K to the next level but it just doesn’t seem as far away as it used to. I will talk more about that when I do the Penguin List in about 15 minutes………. When I checked, after doing about 190k xp, (the level and beyond….) I had 170 perfect laps so I have to continue to get the legs. Shrugs……… first Penguins……

Any One Up For Agility?

June 23rd, 2009

Or do you need to up Agility to try out the new stuff? There is a lotttttttttttttt of griping going on in the forums right now about the new agility levels and how some have worked so hard to get into Dorgesh agility and now can’t. They lowered the rate of falling, lowered the xp per round, and raised the required level of Agility 10 levels to level 80. Doesn’t that just sound worth going out of your way for? (OK – Pure sarcasm I must admit…)

The Gnome Stronghold and Barbarian Outpost agility courses have added an extra route and requires 85 and 90 respectively……… hmmmmmmm………… Since I can’t do the Barbarian one – I shall give the Gnome Stronghold a whirl.

I would like to point out that Jagex made a change that pushed Dorgesh Agility up to level 80. There is an ODD huge gap between the Werewolf/Bandoes Throne Room and the Dorgesh-Kaan Agility Courses. I suspect they did that for a very big reason. I think they are going to bring out a new agility course to fit into that slot. Shrugs…….. we should just try to be patient. Besides, I use the Ape Atoll Agility now and have ignored that blasted Dorgesh Kaan because it’s depressing in there.

Talk to the Gnome Trainer to start of the new extension of the Gnome Stronghold Agility Training.

New Agility At Stronghold

Then he says:
250 Laps!!!

Ok let’s see how long a lap takes…………

I haven’t done this course for a long time so I hope I spot the new spot. Oh finding it was easier than I though it would be………

The Extension Route

Well – the course isn’t very long. They keep track of the perfect rounds – you can’t take damage and have it count. Glad I took food but it isn’t that bad. Besides the bank is nearby. I’ll do a few more laps to see if it gets faster when you get into the zone….

It’s really not very long and it seems to give pretty good xp per round. I have been taking 6 damage when I slip on the sign but I don’t hit the ground.

Opppppppppppppssssss

I’m getting a kind of Jackie Chan feeling when I slip on the sign. It really isn’t that often, but the character stops to catch its breath. I am the lowest requirement to get in there so it’s not that rough. Geeeeeeezzzz, but 250 rounds? Shrugs – it does seem to be good xp. I will do a round and see for sure. Looks like 725xp per lap which is not bad at all – considering how short it is!

There are two pieces of clothing that can be awarded. One per 250 laps completed without damage.

I did get 18k while just trying the course out. I will continue tomorrow and get at least one of those pieces of clothes…. maybe both – raised eyebrow – and maybe a level on top of it!

Weed, Dig, Plant & Water – Not always!

June 22nd, 2009

With A Snip, Snip Here And A Snip, Snip There….

Runekilla323 Asked:

Do you think you might be able to make a post on your farming rounds? I’m not sure if you still do any rounds but, i have a feeling you do ;) All i mainly want to know is your inventory, i have been experimenting with different things to have in there. I also would like to know the best herbs to farm, money wise with 48 farming. That would be GREAT! I think that Toadflax are best, but if you have a different opinion then please let me know! Thanks!

I answered:

Okkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk……….. Runekilla323 – it’s a long time coming but I am going to try to show what I save and don’t bother with anymore in farming. I know that the next person above me in Farming high scores is about 350k (!!!!) higher and, of course, everyone above that person is even farther from my spot.

Sorry it took so long to get to this but I actually haven’t been doing my farming as usual lately. Those air battlestaffs and making more nets have been a big part of what I’ve been getting set up on RS. I am making obs out of 2k molten glass I made from that quick seaweed picking using the nets! (About 1600 seaweed and sand made over 2k moltens using Lunar Magic, no cooking required – Jagex nerfed the number a squidge, too……) Always – get the sand from Bert every day – then you won’t run out of sand when you want to do glass! It may be faster to load up an inventory of buckets with sand now but it still has to get into the bank and back and forth and back and….. (Note especially for beloved hub, Primefalcon!!!!!!) {Snickering – this little pick at Prime will surely have some vocal response when he reads my post! Hehehehe!} Once I finish those orbs, back to enchanting air orbs. What a vicious, lucrative circle! Tisk!

Before I get into the farming part – the nets are so worth making and using! Jagex either nerfed the crafting xp from the first couple days the nets came out or it was a glitch – I was getting 143 xp per wire added to the nets. Now it’s 83 per. Shrugs – still those nets are quicker when you gather it from either Entranta or Rellekka or buying it from Arheim in Catherby. Using an Explorer ring and a Duelin’ Ring is so blasted quick when you weave the flax into nets using the loom near the Draynor patch, then to Castle War’s bank chest. You can make 5 easily and have three spots open. I take the Explorer ring and a Duelin’ Ring, plus wear a Duelin’ Ring for insurance. Also, if you need a supply of BUCKETS, (Pssssssst…. Prime), take gp in the third spot because you will have 20 spots empty and you can buy buckets, rope, plant pots or baskets or other farming stuff from the farming store. After all, you might as well get the stuff while you have to go back to the bank any way. I don’t need buckets even though the Lunar molten glass spell takes them because while we could still buy the sand in buckets from the Charter ship store, I did! I also pick up and fill any buckets people leave behind with super compost.

A familiar is more of a pain than an assist while weaving the flax into nets because they are too big for the area and stop the flow of weaving too often.

Actually Prime is still sleeping from pulling an all-nighter working on our StoreHows.com website. I am doing the blog there already but we have some surprises for my eHow friends once the site gets put up online.

There are three things that I work on constantly – at least lately. Farming, Magic and Crafting. Of course, the benefits of working on these things are what is helping me get levels in other things or – GP! The biggest second benefit from the Farming xp is the coming Herblore XP. I continued with Farming after reaching 99 to help the Herblore. I have a lot of stockpiles growing to do my next push toward level 98 Herblore. (If I didn’t despise Runecrafting so much, I’d put my Penguin/Bear points on Herblore or Prayer!)

I’ve been keeping a little chart on those three for a while:
Aug. 26, 2008
6041 high score in Magic
151 high score in Farming
1367 high score in Crafting

Jan. 22, 2009
2784 high score in Magic
135 high score in Farming
607 high score in Crafting

June 1, 2009
2353 high score in Magic
130 high score in Farming
442 high score in Crafting

So even if I am slipping in overall high scores rank, I am getting up there in a few things!

Specifically for you, Runekilla… 48 Farming gives you a ticket to grow ranaars – one of the best money makers out there at this moment as far as what to grow – as far as I know. I have never done anything just to make money on the game so this is a bit difficult for me specifically. If you can get to Waterbirth easily (Lunar Magic!) and back to Castle Wars bank, you have a major resource for gathering snape quick, the second for prayer pots, especially with a Spirit Bird or Tortoise. Otherwise good old Hobgoblin Island south west of Falidor for snape – I used to take a Spirit Bird and tele to Fally with me to speed it up a bit. (Now the skills necklace drops you off in front of the Crafting Guild.) Moss Giants drop ranaar seeds and filching the Master farmers in Draynor often result in ranaar seeds – my fav ways to get them. Also – ice warriors, ogres, cockroach soldiers, chaos druids, and earth warriors sometimes drop them, too. I never buy them. Daggas do NOT drop them. When I do plant them, I always plant in the Trollheim plot because of their value – guaranteed not to die or get diseased there.

Keep in mind, this is how I do things now. As I replied to the original comment, plant with end goals in mind and what you can or will be able to do with the produce from your allotments. With herblore in mind, I planted and kept all the herbs I could get my hands on well before I could actually grow and clean them or use them. (Identity was the way it used to be…..) Here is a pic of the Seeds and Herbs I keep in inventory:
Seeds And Herbs

From left to right – herbs:
Dwarf weed, Lantadyme, Cadantine, Kwuarm, Avantoe, Irit, Toadflax, Ranaar, Harralander, Tarromin, Marrentill, and Guam. I used to get Torstol from the GE, and still get it from drops every now and then but it’s just too expensive to buy – most of the time it only grows 4 to 6 herbs in the special spot on Trollheim, so definitely not worth it now. Same with Snapdragon – just not worth buying. If I get it as a drop, say from the Nechryaels, I do plant it in the Trollheim plot spot. (I know I could sell it but……… shrugs……… ) As I said, the Ranaar seeds are dropped by Moss Giants now and then – I often do those a while until I get a Ranaar seed when I have Fire Giants as an assignment.

You can also see Limpwurt, strawberry, cactus, watermelon, belladonna, poison and white berries. I often buy limpwurt. The cactus and bella often fall from slayer assignments. The strawberry & watermelon seeds are collected by the fruit bat familiar without using a scroll or anything – I recently planted all the allotments in watermelons without worrying about payments. Watermelons can be used for super compost, too, so I take buckets to fill with sup compost and refill with picked on-the-spot watermelons. Strawberries only make regular compost. The poison berries give you over 1k xp when you health check, pick and replant all in one go.

The clean herbs are pretty much the same list as the seeds, plus snapdragons in the proper order slot, after cads. I always plant snaps in the Trollheim plot spot. Miscellania gives me a lot of grimy herbs, including ranaar as well, but not snapdragons or torstols. I only keep clean herbs, so as soon as I pick up an herb, I clean it whether I am going to keep it or not. I do keep the lower herbs and lower seeds because – dang it – always, after I sell something off or get rid of it, we need it in a new quest! A quest recently needed a SNAPDRAGON seed – sure enough – I used the last one I had about two days before it came out! I’d rather have a few of most of the herbs on hand since those blasted things get nearly impossible to get when they are included in a new quest.

The Seconds and Payments to watch over trees:
Seconds and Payments

I see that I need fungus for the super energy pots. A waste of time to buy to use now – sort of a waste to use at all since the run restores so fast. Nevertheless, it is still an available herb to make pots with and the fungi is pretty easy to get in Mort Myer Swamp. (If you kill the ghasts by having the pouches with you to make them visible, you get 30xp prayer per.) I have been stocking up on most of the other seconds. The cactus spines pay for watching over yews – I need to go pick more of those a few times – 10 per tree. I use super compost on the maples unless I happen to have oranges. I have enough payments for a few spirit tree seeds – if I finally get one anyway…….. shrugs! Again, use the Fruit Bats whenever you are going to be standing in one spot for a while and not fishing because they collect the pineapple, coconuts, papayas, strawberries, watermelons and strawberry/watermelon seeds. I’ll have to make more coconut milk to make all the pots for the nightshade/poison ivy – I try to keep at least 50 for whatever might come up like the yew roots and toadflax. It all looks like I have a lot of herblore stock but it will only get about 100k and I need 330k for the level now. Still – I am getting closer all the time!~

One of the biggest assists I get in farming is to constantly replant every tree plot I can. I try to do a total round every day but I often don’t have the seeds. I buy Calquats because they are relatively cheap and give great xp. I keep maples & yews from Miscellania and pot them, but often sell the magics to buy two or three yews. I keep and plant palms & papayas, plus oranges sometimes from Miscellania, too. I sell the rest of the tree seeds. Spirit trees are non-tradeable and I’m glad, cause they are incredible xp even if they do take three days.

The jade vine in Ardougne adds 1.5k xp to farming and 2.5k xp to slayer. Always good to do those when you can – just a bit extra xp.

He can’t leave the well.

Primefalcon sacrificed himself to test out the new grave marker updates. He went over to the vine in Ardougne with very little and let himself be killed….. hearing taps in the distance………. sniffle, sniffle….

Here Lies Primefalcon
Beloved husband of Marlaine……..

He lost his magic secateurs and it cost him $40k to replace it! His grave stone did survive his logging out. No matter where he went, the ingame map showed his location and pointed an arrow toward his grave stone. The timer countdown continued while he was logged off. When he got back to the grave stone, he picked up everything he could and was waiting for it to disintegrate. A wing fell off and heaven’s bells were beginning to ring….. when Thy Great Ra bestowed upon him an hour’s worth of eternal life. Thanks to Ra for being so generous to we of mortal existence – hehehehehe. Very nice of you Thy Great Ra………. so Prime went off to do a slayer assignment and an hour later, his character was notified that his grave stone collapsed.

Whoa! Prime just told me that you can take the seaweed nets when you talk to Arheim in Catherby and he gives them all to you in one go! Automatically fills your nets – so take at least 8 nets – 10 to be sure you won’t leave any behind because some broke on you.

Seaweed

The Circus is near the Wizard’s Tower this week.

After I turn in my penguin/bear points, I will bid you all ado for the night and hope you find all the penguins/bear places.

Miscellaneous Stuff….

June 15th, 2009

I’ve been forced – snickering – to catch up with making and high alking my air battlestaffs, since I empowered a major amount of orbs and I am running out of gp buying all those staffs at 7k each. I have over 2.5k to alk so I’ll be picking zammy wines. Now that the seaweed is incredibly fast to get with those wonderful nets over at Rellekka using DKS to get there (less fuss than the lyre – no sharks to re-empower it), I won’t have to fiddle around at monks to get it. (I’ll be able to fish around for monks instead!) Also, Primefalcon told me that the high alking processes is a lot quicker now – they took out that irritating odd click that threw you off your rhythm. We’ll see how long it takes to get all those staffs alked starting now………… smiling!

Oh…….. my poor poor crafting high score………sigh…….. I never set out to get way up on crafting high scores but since I do the battlestaffs on a regular basis for gp, the magic and crafting rank just keeps going up. I have never used magic for pking or battles except when needed for quests. My magic rank comes from high alking, tele grabbing and super heating ores almost exclusively. Thing is, I never went out of my way for those ranks either – it’s only part of what I need to do to get other things done. The gp I save buying the battlestaffs – patiently – every day at 7k each, more than pays for all nature runes I buy for everything I use natures for. (As you know, all my penguin/bear points and genie lamps/tomes go to Runecrafting so I am still getting xp toward levels without actually doing the runecrafting!) Lots of slayer assignment creatures have been dropping natures as well. Oh that reminds me……………..

100 Slayer Tasks!!!!!
I wouldn’t be doing any combat if I wasn’t trying to get slayer levels. Added note – those Nechryaels drop snapdragon seeds, among other things! I picked up two the last time I had them as an assignment and I got them again. Jagex may have changed it so you don’t get a certain assignment right after another but…. of course, I don’t mind getting Nechryaels again……..

Ohhhhhhhhh btw – WordPress has now made it incredibly easy to update your blog! Update Now click and wham – it’s done in about 1 minute or less! I did the update on this blog and StoreHows.com blog – noooooo problem at all. (Primefalcon always did that stuff for me before plus whatever little tweaks needed to be done to fix whatever might not work quite right on WordPress after an update.) Since this blog is so blasted long and full of blabber, Prime always tests the new updates on another blog first – we’d hate to lose this one………. eyes wide with horror! So if any one out there was contemplating starting a WordPress blog, now is a great time to try it! WordPress does NOT put ads on your free blog – it let’s the blog author put ads on it and make some income for themselves!

Ok some rl work – then I will be back. Let’s see if I can get all those battlestaffs alked in on run – full inventory, plus the spirit bird, of zammy wines coming right up! Hope not actually because I need something to do while waiting for those. First I need to change to the busiest world I can find with an un-occupied zammy wine tele pick point for faster respawn.

Time passes………..

Good! It will take a while getting all those battlestaffs alked and I will be able to get more than a couple full loads of wine! That seriously makes me happy because I was thinking that I’d have to make magic longs out of my stockpile of mage logs just to have something to alk while I get more wine but that stockpile comes in handy if you lose the adze, flame gloves or ring of fire. I am getting closer and closer to 98 Herblore now so I am starting to up my toadflax production in the herb patch and gathering seconds again. The alking is going much faster but you have to let the tele grab finish completely before going back to alk or it will knock you out of the zone.

I’ve heard that a lot of people think the new magic icons are too childish. That implies that those icons haven’t been improved over the old ones. Are they absolutely blind? Raised eyebrow! I like those confuse and weaken icons enough to think about having a t-shirt made or making it myself.
