Summoning 80 and Combat 135!

January 4th, 2009

Well gang - I got the level 80 Summoning last night late but I was too zonked to do a post…………….

That level gave me the 135 combat…….. but it is still 125 on free - which I do tend to keep as my personal bench mark. I still have a whole lot of prayer levels to get before I am the highest free level I can achieve. I noticed that on the PVP worlds, it shows the 125 +10 as my level. So that’s what happened with that numbering system Jagex talked about - it only shows up on PVP worlds. (I mine there sometimes….) But that’s one of the reasons I gauge by free - you never know when Jagex will change it and consider the higher combat with Summoning “unfair” and take it off or change it again somehow.

I am doing some herblore while I write this. I’ve been so busy with cleaning the basement and working on getting charms, that I haven’t been keeping up with my nests and stuff. Miscellania gives me a lot of herbs every time I collect. I will change that back over to coal once I get my herblore levels but for now, the nests from the maple cutting and the individual herbs are sure helping my herblore xp! I had over 200 nests (almost 300!) and I’ve been planting the toadflax every time I think of it. Nice xp coming right up and then some decent gp from the GE right after that!

Miscellania has also been giving me a lot of ranarrs but those I won’t sell! Note - the super stat restore used to restore more of your prayer per dose and WAS better than regular prayer pots but no more - at least not worth the extra fuss (doing agility in the arena for snapdragons - yuck!) and/or expense. Moss Giants drop a fair amount of ranarr seeds so it’s easier to get ranarrs than snapdragons. Plus the snape is so quick to get when you use the Lunar tele to Waterbirth island, take a beast of burden and round trip it with a Castle Wars ring……….. I don’t know a faster herblore seconds gathering loop. Dagganoths and Aberrant Specters drop snap seeds now and then. (I wish we could have that one time spell changeover from Regular Mage to Lunar like we do on Lunar - yes it’s level 96 to cast but sooooooooooo handy! It just doesn’t work if you need to high alk, super heat, or empower orbs because it’s only for one cast and would be too rune costly!) Every time I am on Lunar mage, I make sure I go gather lots of snape before I change back to regular magic.

I just finished the sara and prayer pots - nice xp! Almost 75k… I do try to whittle away 100k every time I do an herblore session so at least 25k to go. (I had over 700k to my next level - there is no way I would do 700k xp in one go - I would get way too bored!) I will have to go get blue dragon scales to do the lantas - drat. Problem is, I can’t resist killing the drags while I am there so it always takes me sooooooooooooooooooooo long to gather enough scale………. shrugs………. After all, the dragon bones and the blue hides - how could I resist? Fortunately, I have other herb stacks and seconds piles to mix up.

Herblore is one of my fav skills - I admit - but it is so frustrating! The thing about herblore is that you are always running out of something! Even when you stockpile high and plenty, there is always something that you have to go get. At least you can’t eat nightshade any more! But the janger berries for the torstol - grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

For summoning, I planted three of my tree plots in willows so I can cut the branches for the giant ents. The best xp, easiest collected summoning seconds, and least shards for the green charms is using making the giant ents until level 88 Unicorns or 93 Abyssal Titans. Unfortunately - I have no green charms at the moment since I used them all up to get to level 80 so I could do the level 80 hydras which take the water orbs I’ve been saving from water fiend drops ………..sigh …………. but the nice part is - willows give you 6 branches and regenerate them pretty fast. I can usually do a round of snippings - wait half an hour - then get another round of snippings from the three willows. I started doing that way before I could make the tree ents so I could stock pile with no pressure or hurry. (Same with the unicorn horns - that stock pile is growing every time I go to the Catherby herb planting plot.)

The easiest collected gold is for the Barker Toad - level 66 because the tortoise shell is not fast falling or inexpensive to buy if you are so inclined. Does anyone out there know a good reason to keep barker toad pouches? I’ve been turning those in for shards, along with a lot of other stuff. The three basic seconds I keep now are the toads, willow branches, and granite. I use blue charms only sparingly.

I haven’t been keeping up with my battlestaffs either. Most of my gp is sitting in the form of those staffs and I have to empower more orbs to do all of them! Then I’ll go pick nightshade and zammy wine to stock pile up while I high alk the air battlestaffs. Vicious circle ……..sigh ……… but smiling!

Now about the Behind the Scenes for 2009 and for January, 2009…….
So Jagex is going to give the old parts of Runescape a face lift. Wasn’t that what they said they were doing two years ago? To be point blank - I like surprises! I don’t want to know upcoming content. I rather listen to rumors and speculation - it is ever so much more fun! I don’t need to know they are going to do something every week or every other week because - just as it has in the last two months - things change and you never know what might have to be held back a while longer to smooth out glitches and hitches. I don’t want guaranteed content. I don’t like knowing what I’m getting ahead of time. I actually hold back Christmas cards until Christmas! Oh poo - so I’m a weirdo……. shrugs - so what?

(I see they are teasing with a promise of new haircuts again. I won’t be making an appointment with the Fally hairdresser with any real hope and anticipation of actually being able to have long hair this time! Remember when they said that if you get your construction high enough, you will be able to choose hair styles from your bedroom vanity that you can’t get in Fally? Yeah - right………………………………….)

So maybe we should start saving ashes for the summoning creature Phoenix? I could almost bet that is what we will need to make it - raised eyebrow.

….. and a Seer’s Achievement diary….. flax for fletching, extra woodcutting xp when chopping down maples, sorcerers magic? Gee - I wish I had had all that when I started! But I sure don’t want to re-order my spell books…… they would probably revert as soon as you log out any way, like most things do.

They could make the games room into something more game xp gaining - if I wanted to play checkers, I can go to an existing online game. How about a High/Low game in there…. that gives you xp points - maybe 10xp for every correct guess (accumulating in a credit slip perhaps) to be used in the skill of your choice maybe? OR SOMETHING……..

Isn’t that nice that they are monitoring the forums? Too bad they aren’t providing direct contact and customer service. If they ban anyone for not filing a glitch report, they should be shot! Have you tried to report a glitch lately? I have. Took longer than taking the dog out and making her dinner! I don’t believe I will ever file another!

Oh yes and one more wise-acre remark…………… 5 minute log out? Holy smoly! How many times has Runescape lagged out on you and the 90 second auto log out is the only thing that saved you? I have repeatedly been logged out by the game lately and couldn’t get back on for a few minutes as it is - thankful I was only picking herbs! Now they are going to make sure we all get killed more often?

Oh - well - oppppsssss - one more snotty crack - they can go bury Postie Pete’s head wherever the rest of him is. I sure wouldn’t miss him!

Happy New Year To All!

December 31st, 2008

I hope you are all having a great New Year’s Eve & Day - and an amazing 2009 in store!

Happy New Year! Many Happy Returns Of The Joys Of The Seasons!

I’m working on that Summoning level but have to do assignments or cockroaches for more charms before I can get it. I will probably get it just before New Year’s - Primefalcon and I are planning a fun night but we will be doing a bit of Runescape, too. Dang - Spiritual Mages are my assignment but they don’t drop charms!

I have to admit that I got a bit sick from doing that awful dirty work in the basement and am just getting over some kind of serious whatever. I bet my voice sounds like a dying toad - not just a toad. But the year coming up feels like it will be a better one than we’ve all had for some time! Here’s to hoping this is a correct prediction!

Well - the night is almost over, and I am making a very nice dinner for Primefalcon and me for after Midnight. I don’t think I will be getting that summoning level tonight. Nevertheless, once again - Happy New Year To All!

The Xmas AFTERMATH…….

December 29th, 2008

It was the best of Xmases - it was the worst…….

I didn’t want to write about this during Christmas but…. We had a major crisis over Christmas……. sigh! Our sewer got blocked and our basement flooded because……….

We had over 20 inches of snow lately and sub-zero temperatures. Then it warmed up to 58 degrees! Gallons of water exasperated our slow running system and wham! Four inches of water all over the entire basement with nowhere to go! Cyclecyco tried to help - even borrowed a plumbing snake from a friend. He and Prime spent Christmas trying to unclog the sewer pipe! It was awful! Prime and I had barely enough time to exchange RS stuff for Christmas but we did have two really great dinners with Cyclecyco and - in spite of it all - a time we will remember as difficult but a sharing of love. …. but I am not going to tell you what we have named Christmas of aught 8…………… I couldn’t do any laundry, we couldn’t take showers or use the plumbing in the bathroom - if you are getting the full “drift” of that, then you can guess what we nicknamed Christmas of 2008!

A plumber got here Saturday night - last night - and had it all cleared within an hour. Unfortunately it was on a weekend and late when he got here. Sigh…….. nevertheless - we found a great plumber that we will definitely call if we ever need one again! He was fair, fast, & friendly! Thanks again Alfredo! Smiling!

So - as far as RS - I am seriously behind what I had hoped to do over the last few days. As I did last spring after the flood, I have a lot of work to do in the basement AGAIN. Probably not quite as much work because some of it was cleared and moved or dumped before. I am exhausted at the moment so I am going to spend a bit on RS to just relax and restore some energy in my rl character - hahahaha!

I had hoped to get one more summoning level over Christmas. I would get 135 combat with just one more. I am considering using my penguin points on it but I just wouldn’t get as much xp as I would on my personally dreaded Runecrafting xp.

Well, I had 38 penguin points and turned them in for Runecrafting XP - got 81,700 xp!!!!!!! Level 86 runecrafting at the moment so it’s 25 times your level per penguin point. Now I am talking to Larry to get a list for this week - haven’t had a chance to track any this week so any I see will be spyable for me now! They are a bit of a pain to do but I look it up on Rune Wiki to see where they might be, save the list and then go ask Larry for hints. The places are different on different worlds.
I have 4 penguin points now - once again.

Happy Boxing Day In The USA!

December 26th, 2008

It is actually the day after the day after Christmas in Australia now. In Australia, the day after Christmas is called Boxing Day. Yeah - Yeah - Yeah ……… the first time Primefalcon told me about it, I thought all of Australia sat around watching fights on “the tele”. He said everyone gets together to drink and party but he doesn’t know why….. I looked it up and they actually get the day off as well! It is celebrated in Australia, New Zealand, England and Canada but most of the people who celebrate it have no idea why it’s a holiday! I am searching for an answer now…….. I think it makes sense to have the day after Christmas off to get over the hang overs.

Aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaa……. it started in Britain and signifies the upper classes giving the lower classes gifts of cash or durable goods. Those of higher and equal classes gave each other gifts on Christmas day or before. The murky part comes when you are trying to find out exactly who gave what to whom………. shrugs…….. Perhaps the lord of the manor gave out stipends to the servants and the employers gave their workers a bit of a bonus - but this happened the day after Christmas. Can you imagine the uproar if people didn’t get their bonuses until after Christmas in the US? Whew!

Also, Primefalcon entered a phrase in the Urban Dictionary yesterday - in tribute to my brother, Cyclecyco, sort of ……… My brother calls Prime, Brola - as a shortened version of Brother-in-Law……………….. it has a very cool sound to it really and my brother always asks, “Is my Brola there? I’m having a puter problem.” (…when he’s trying to figure out something on his computer) ……….. snicker………….

Cyclecycle has an interesting way to say a lot of things……. some of it’s on eHow…………… He does Arnold Schwarzenegger better than Arnold does - hahahahaha! CC had Prime and I laughing for hours! It was great!

Happy Boxing Day Everybody!
Smiling!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

December 24th, 2008

I hope everyone is having a great Christmas! Or whatever holiday you might be celebrating at this time of year! Find joy and glee in all you do and see!

Cyclecyco made it and our dog is in Unkle heaven…. smiling! He has a different car so she didn’t recognize the sound and barked her head off when he was coming in until SHE SAW WHO IT WAS! Then it was all whine whine woof woof whine whine, wagging tail and crinkle ears showing even more happiness! We are all very happy to be together this Christmas Eve. It’s been snowing pretty heavy here - record breaking most likely!

Nevertheless - Merry Christmas from Prime and me!

Those Extra Xp Things……….

December 20th, 2008

When you get a few skills to 99, you will find many tasks will only count your xp efforts to high scores. Right now I am making more air orbs for battlestaffs because I keep getting those staffs to make gp. I am getting crafting and magic xp up higher and higher as a bonus really. I could keep doing slayer assignments instead or working on a skill that is below 99 - and I will! - but I buy those battlestaffs at 7k each in Varrock and they pile up pretty fast.

I started making really nice gp on this game by doing air battlestaffs. Back then, I had to world hop to get them from the Wizard’s Guild and I had to gauge how many to buy to keep it profitable. When they added Baba Yaga, it was easy to world hop to get more than 64 a day at 7k (or less!)……….. Now, I usually head to the shop before going to the GE - so it’s gotten to be a daily habit to buy staffs and go check out what’s sold and what prices are on things I buy often.

Prime was buying staffs and stocking up on them but stocking himself out of gp. Until you get a massive pile of gp, it is easier to take high alk, an inventory minus 5 of the orbs you want to make into battlestaffs, and then go to Zack. Buy five, make them, alk them, buy ten, make them, alk them ……… you see the pattern. I sort of set aside a certain amount of gp at first so I could build up a stash of cash to buy a pile of battlestaffs. Now - especially - that I don’t have to get magic or crafting xp, it’s much easier to be patient about getting those staffs. I do have to make some air orbs to put on them because - I just don’t want to pay for orbs when I can make them quicker and a lot at a time. I don’t want to pay more than 7k for the staffs either. It only costs the runes and battlestaffs for me - so I make about 2k on each staff.

I have been getting a whole lot of noted water orbs when doing water fiends when I have them as a slayer assignment but……….. yesterday I saw a guy at the magic tree in the Gnome Stronghold - who had a hydra following him. Hmmmmmmmm I thought - wonder what that does! I looked it up and it’s level 80. I happen to be level 79 at the moment and had been planning on using those water orbs for the battlestaffs. He went to his tree patch and used his hydra before he started chopping. Then about 3 chops later, he used his hydra again - I could see two big leaves twirling over it’s head. When I had looked it up - it said the hydra can refresh. It actually regrows your tree after you chop it down. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm - I don’t need woodcut but I am getting nicely high on high scores with that. I don’t really need fletch xp but - same deal. Making magic longs to alk is still a decent amount of gp too. (Yes I know I can sell the logs on the GE but I don’t wanna……. snickering! Besides, it sure helped when that signal fire line had to be lit and I had a great stock pile of magic logs in the bank.)

Funny - Runescape decorated three towns for Halloween but no decos for Xmas - not even snow in any of the towns? Land Of The Snow is not exactly festive either. We could donate some snow - we got about 20 inches yesterday! Yet we have Santa outfits ……….

I had over 400 comments again so I am moderating those while I make orbs. Sigh……….. the stuff people think will get through! I love finding the real comments here though so it’s worth it to me and I want to thank every one who takes the time to leave a comment! To everyone who takes the time to read my blog, thank you. To anyone who leaves child porn - believe me - I make it my mission to help people track you down!

Oh - since it’s taking a lot of empty time making those orbs, I want to quickly tell you about a strange thing that happened to Prime and me in real. It was snowing a couple of days ago and the forecast predicted a lot of it. I was going to feed our dog at about 7pm and looked out the window, saw the snow coming heavy but there was only about an inch on the ground. I told Prime that it would be a good idea to get to the library and the store quick before it got worse. We got out there, scraped the car off, turned the key and our dear car would not start! I tried - Prime tried - I tried again. We could hear the battery getting weaker and decided not to go. Sigh - I thought - I won’t drink coffee without milk. Shrugs………….. We both sat there cursing a teeny bit because the worst part of driving is when it gets slick under the snow once it has built up and the highway department hasn’t plowed or salted the roads yet. I hate driving when it’s iffy whether the car with keep going straight or turn when I am trying to turn. Geeeeeeeezzzzzzzlouise!

Slowly, we got out of the car, resigned to having our books overdue the next day. Then we heard a big crunch on the major intersection just a block away and a minute later we heard sirens. The sound came from just about where we would have been if we had gotten Lippy - our car - going when we wanted to go! We probably would have slid right into it if we hadn’t actually been involved in the accident.

…………….so at about midnight, when it was MUCH COLDER, Prime went out to shovel and decided to try to start the car. Popped right over and started - as is normal for Lippy! We decided to get everything due at the library and go for it. (That car has started every time but this one time for almost three years since we bought it - used! Tiny plug here - thanks Ford Taurus!)

I admit - I feel watched over from above! Wonderful time of the year to have such an awesome thing happen. I don’t want to add (but will) - I was experiencing so much fear before we tried to go the first time that - eyes to the sky - I had a little crying fit. I had no idea why I was so scared then and when the car did start, I was no longer afraid. When got to the library at almost 1am and turned onto the incline street leading to the library parking lot, it was so slippery that Lippy slipped back into the street - but the advantage of going at midnight is that there are not many cars to smash into.

May you all be protected, or at the very least, listen to those little intuitions that whisper in your mind - ‘wait, don’t go yet…………’
Hugggggggggggggggggggggggsss………. Happy Holidays!
Smiling - big!

The 2008 Christmas Event

December 17th, 2008

Ooooohhhhhhhhhhooooooooo! Jack Frost has escaped from the Land Of Snow and is trying to ruin everyone’s Christmas throughout Runescape! If that isn’t bad enough, Santa is MIA! Jack’s Mother, The Queen Of Snow, wants Jack back home, safe and cold and has sent imps to find him.

In this year’s Christmas Event, you will need to find one of three specific imps. Talk to one of them to start the event. There is one in Rimmington, Falador and Lumbridge - all located north of their respective towns. The imp you talk to will give you an ice necklace that will allow you to summon an imp that will tell you if you are hot or cold in your search for Jack or would that be cold or hot? Hmmmmmmmmmm……

You summoning your little imp familiar and he will tell you if you are getting closer to Jack or not.

Once you find Jack Frost, your imp will teleport you to where Jack is. Then you need to take a running start and slide yourself into him in the ice field.

The Queen Of The Land Of Snow shows up and thanks you for stopping Jack from creating more havoc. But suddenly, she notices that St. Nick has been frozen! She needs your help to thaw him out. She gathers wood and the imp brings a tinder box to start the fires to warm Santa out of his suspended state.

Once all is right in this frozen world, Santa realizes he has some work to do! After wishing you a Merry Christmas and giving you a Santa suit of your own, he is off to get ready for his yearly joy of giving toys to girls and boys.

(There are a strange bunch of explanations about Santa and the Queen of the Land Of Snow having a child - who happens to be Jack Frost. Why Santa and the Queen couldn’t stay together and blah blah blah - tisk……………)

Myths Of The White Lands Quest

December 17th, 2008

Myth Of The White Lands Quest

Explorer Jack has had a lifetime love of myths that might just lead to rare trinkets, trophies and terrific fortunes! Getting on in years, he’d rather send you to do a little look-see for him - well maybe he’s not too old but he sure would like to find out what may or may not be true about a tale of riches in a distant Land Of Snow. True, imps are generally not to be trusted, but a passing snow imp told him the tale in quite a convincing way! Would you care to delve deeper into the imp’s tale to possibly discover if it might just hold some truth? Explorer Jack is prepared to reward you well - if the tale proves true.

(This quest was released on December 16, 2008 and can be played by all until the end of the Christmas event. After which, it will revert to a member’s only activity.)

This quest is short and has no requirements! Teleports to Lumbridge and Draynor would be helpful. Take an axe, a hammer, and a chisel.

Start by speaking to Explorer Jack in Lumbridge. He is in the hut just west of the General Store outside the castle walls. (Location shows in the mini-map in the start picture.)

He’ll tell you that, if you would go explore for him, there are riches awaiting in the frozen caves in the Land of Snow. He wants the precious riches a snow elf told him about. You’ll need to visit Isidor, in the room next to Wizard Sedridoron on the basement floor in the Wizards Tower. Talk to Isidor and you’ll say the phrase “Ectosum Glissendo” automatically to get him to teleport you to the land of snow.

You will start slipping and sliding as soon as you walk on the ice. Use the rocks around you to get to the cave by bumping into them. Just walk in a direction and let yourself slide into a mound of snow. Once you stop yourself, you’ll see how easy it is. Then you need to get to the snow mound in front of the east wall in the alcove.

There are six cavern areas to slide and stumble through. You have to go through all of them to get to the gems for Explorer Jack. Each section can be finished using different routes so keep trying different slide directions, including diagonally.

The First Cavern:
It works the same way as the ice outside - just let yourself glide until you get in front of the mouth of the cavern. Just have some fun until you get there!

The Second Cavern:
This cavern is also a slip zone and fun to goof around in. Woodcutting reward will be available after you find the gems. You’ll need a hammer and chisel to clear the stalactites.

2nd Area

If you have a problem getting to the next door, log out to start over - go south first in this one. If you go forward, you get sort of caught in a loop up and over the ramps so don’t go that way yet. As you go through any of the areas, logging out will put you at the entrance of whichever cavern you are in and you can start over.

Also 2nd Area

The Third Cavern:
As with the other two areas, whiz around and you will find yourself on the ramp. For this one, getting on the ramp zips you into the next chamber. It doesn’t take long — just zip around the outside, starting northward first and let the slip take you to the next spots until you line up with the ramp. You need to get up on the ramp in this area.

The Fourth Cavern:
This maze is going to be tougher. Start by going east, then go diagonally north east. Those diagonal slides can be hard to find so try a few times until you get to the rock with the root on it and climb up. Study the wall and get 10k xp in Agility.

You need to get to this point to be able to leave.

The Fifth Cavern:
Work your way to the snow pad, that will stop you from sliding and is right in front of the exit. Again, the diagonals can be hard to find.
You will need to get to the snow pad to be able to leave this area.

The Sixth Cavern:
This is the last cavern and you’ll have to push stones into the northern path to be able to get through. It looks easy, just go east and through the exit but…………….

….. you wake a Yeti that screams so loud, you slide right back out of the cavern area! The guide suggests that you investigate the blocks. Work the stone blocks by pushing them until you get them into the wall. You have to be standing on a snow pad to be able to move them.

When you try again to go into that room, the Yeti screams at you, slamming you back to the last room’s entrance again.

Go back to the Fifth Cavern and climb up the ledge. Pass through the Sixth Cavern until you get to the crevice in the North East Corner.

Clear and study the wall to gain 20k Woodcutting XP if you have an axe with you. Go through the crevice in the Sixth Cavern and you will find yourself in the room with the Yeti - he doesn’t notice you up there. Study the wall and you will see a pictograph that shows yelling through the pipe.

Start shouting in to the pipe. You will see a cutscene. You will shout so loudly at the Yeti that it becomes afraid of you and faints.

You can see a pile of rocks next to the Yeti. You will need to go in there to get them. Go back along the ledge until you get back to the beginning of the ledge and return through the exit of the Fifth Cavern and slide through the Sixth Cavern to the entrance of the Yeti room. Pick up the Explorer Jack’s riches. The very suspicious looking (and smelling) rocks. They aren’t stones after all - are they?

Backtrack out of the caverns to get to the first snowy, slippery area where your feet first started freezing in the Land Of Snow. (Nothing compared to Wisconsin this year!) Snow elves will be waiting there for you. One of them will tell you that you are actually holding Yeti Dung. They will enchant it so you can take it back to Explorer Jack and it won’t smell bad until it thaws after you give it to him.

Teleport to Lumbridge and give the dung to Explorer Jack. You will have a choice - either tell him that the Stones are Yeti Dung or let him believe that they are real jewels. When you tell him the truth he says that it might still have some value and gives you a 500xp lamp and 1 quest point. When you carry on the prank, he gives you a 500xp lamp and 1 quest point and you are told to check with him later. Both choices suggest that you check back with him later.

Congratulations! Quest Complete!

CONGRATULATIONS QUEST COMPLETE!

Return to the caverns with the tools you need if you didn’t take them with you the first time through. I do not know what the specific skill levels are to receive the extra bonuses in the Second, Fourth and Sixth Caverns. When you return to Explorer Jack later, he tells you he sold it to a wandering witch who wanted it for potions.

Added notes - thanks to the fellow Runescapers who comment on my blog (and I consider you friends), the skill levels are 30 Crafting, 50 Agility and 80 Woodcut. (Added 12-18-2008)

Rewards also include 2k xp in Crafting, 10k xp in Agility, and 20k xp in Woodcutting. Also 5,000 gp from the sale of the dung.

The Christmas Event and the Myths Of The White Lands Quest!

December 16th, 2008

Well the Christmas event and the Christmas quest are both out today! It is seriously cold here in Wisconsin, with icicles hanging from the neighbor houses making them look like Christmas cards! Prime and I are lucky enough to live kitty corner from a family that really puts great lights up every year so I don’t mind doing things in the kitchen right now! But we are getting near record breaking cold temps - was almost zero last night when I took our dog out! (What about global warming - I want more of it!)

I will start working on the quest guide as I do the quest in a few minutes. I need to do a few things first - but already took our dog out and grabbed some coffee. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr —- it’s almost up to 12 degrees out there anyway. I do have a book to study and take back to the library though. Dang it……….

If you missed the link in my last post, here it is again and I wish you all a great Holiday Season! MarlaineMarie at eHow! Hugggggggggggggs to all.

I did notice that Runescape has not given us that hinted-at expanded exchange for Christmas yet!!!!!!! I hope that’s a yet!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wanted to comment on my comments for a moment. I have noticed a few Russian notes and doing a quick translation sort of tells me they aren’t spam comments. I want to put up comments that most people who read this blog can read so I apologize to you sweet people who have been leaving messages in Russian and other languages. Please leave comments in English. Personally I enjoy a riddle and translating once in a while but I have over 500 comments to moderate today alone so I don’t have enough time either.

They changed the Balance Elemental for While Guthix Sleeps Quest -

The Balance Elemental has become wise to your tricks, and will now fight as originally intended, varying his attack styles with your prayers. Make sure you’re fully prepared before you attempt to engage this foe.

I am not sure if there is a safe spot from melee now but I added a note to the quest guide to point out the change.

They have made some kind of changes to the games necklace and the dueling ring to “make your life a little easier.” Shrugs, it wasn’t too bad to start with! They also are giving a heads up if we who have the lower membership fee are risking losing that lower fee - I bet they will be glad when we all pay the same though. Look what they did with classic Runescape! Is it even there? I haven’t looked since I got blocked from logging in.

They should toss out that quick chat thing! Unless you like going through screen after screen to talk - isn’t it quicker to just type HI! Shaking head. How the heck is that quick? Really? Could I have said all this there - no! Could I have found no as fast as it took me to write this whole sentence - no! Does that dang interface get in the way when you accidentally click it - yes!

Ok - off I go to work on the quest guide!

Happy Holidays Every Body!

Merry Christmas And Happy Holidays To All!!!!!

December 14th, 2008

First of all, I acknowledge those who don’t celebrate Christmas specifically! I happen to be 99% German, and Christmas is a very big tradition in my family. Some of my family also celebrates Hanuka as well. As a kid, I spent most of my Sundays at Dog Shows almost anywhere in the Continental United States with my Mom so I am coming from a very different perspective than most people. I personally knew dog speak before human, as well, so I also listen to others differently than most. So with an open heart and sincere caring emotion, I wish you all the Best of Whatever Holiday you choose to celebrate at this time of year and if you do not celebrate in any way, I wish you happiness and contentment always! The kitten in the strawberry jar was about 4 pounds but grew to about 24 lbs! (He couldn’t even get his head in that jar once he was full grown!)

Ok - well - if you try the link to eHow it may or may not work at the moment. I think they are having a couple problems right now but you guys know - I send you all happiness and wishes for your best dreams to come true always! Have Wonderful Holidays Wherever You Are!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!! HAPPIEST OF NEW YEARS!!!!!!!!!!

As for me, Primefalcon, and Cyclecyco, we are looking forward to being together and having hours of sharing love and laughter. (Hopefully CC will stay a few days!) Most of the rest of our family is spread all over the US, Australia, and in Germany - sigh. At least there is Skype - and we can leave it open like an intercom.

As for Runescape, I am hmmmmmmmmmmmmm……… can’t remember at the moment - oh yes, I am fishing and cooking. I’ve been wearing those Flaming ring and gloves while burning a load of maples before getting a load of monks with a granite lobster following me around fetching swordies and sharks. Then I cook a load of monks or just bank the raw for swapping. It’s upping the firemaking high score for sure and the cooking/fishing. Also getting a whole lot of swordfish and shark to cook or sell. I should just go for the fishing level but…. you know me…. no point wasting the easy way to get a bunch of stuff done at once! Eventually all the xp will count - somewhere. Oh yeah - and you can just step outside the games where you fish monk and renew your summoning points to bring out another pouch when the current one runs out. I love those familiars that you don’t have to use scrolls on! The Macaw does give great herbs but I just don’t catch it on the minute all the time and that wastes its out time.

Smiling!

Be back later!
